Yes this spot lives up to the hype! For years my sister has been suggesting that I visit this spot when in town. The Sunday prior to my most recent departure I had the opportunity to check out brunch at this spot.I would highly recommend securing reservations for this restaurant. The best way to do that is to call! I attempted to make the reservation online and was not successful. My sister called and secured us a spot with no problem.First thing to note is that this is a private membership club. What does that mean? Well, in order to dine at this restaurant you do have to pay a membership fee of $10 annually. You can register for a membership online, or include it in your dinning bill during your visit. Once you are a member, you can bring a guest to dine with you who does not have a membership. Admittedly I do not like this idea. Essentially as a person who does not reside in the city I have to pay $10 extra for my meal.Ok, so what did I love about this spot? First of all it is just sexy! When you walk up you immediately feel the shift. It's as if you immediately feel relaxed and comfortable. The decor can be described as mid- century modern with a sprinkle of contemporary.Additionally the staff were friendly, attentive, and overall just amazing. It felt as if I was dining at a 5 star restaurant. Last, but not least- the food! I ordered the tree hugger omelet and my sister had the avocado toast. I really enjoyed all the veggies in my omelet. However, I have to say my sisters toast was amazing! That is what I will be having during my next visit!I am so glad that I finally had the opportunity to check this spot out. I would highly recommend checking it out. I do not think you will be disappointed.A little background on this spot!1. The Crunkleton made its debut in Chapel Hill, NC in 2008. This location is known as a cocktail bar.2. The Charlotte location opened in 2018 and includes a full kitchen.3. The third location is expected to open the fall of 2022 in Raleigh, NC4. Where did the name come from: the owner! His name is Gary Crunkleton

This place is delicious! Their burger is on my top 2 of all time (number 1 is all the way on Kuai, Hawaii). Their corn is amazing!!! Finally to top it all off their desserts are dangerously good. This place is a must try for couples on their next date night. Super good!!!

Crunkleton always has fabulous cocktails! We were very surprised at the piccata…..it was not pounded tender and thin, a fat thick breast. The wine to accompany the piccata Smoothed the food over…. Service is at top level.

No reviews for the food because we did not get a table due to incorrect instructions from a host telling us not to make a reservation prior and to come at 5..she said there would be plenty of seating available. Hyped up this restaurant to my foodie family visiting from out of town...only to be turned away by the GM saying they were booked. Not only embarrassing but the host's delivery showed no empathy. Spent no effort on a work around or trying to get us in at a different time..nothing. I host many events for the banking community in Charlotte and I have never seen such arrogance and lack of ettiquite. I will never come back or recommend this place. Customers first...no room for egos or discriminatory practices. Possibly both.

Amazing service and food! Stopped by to celebrate my client closing on his first home and we were given complimentary champagne. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we were taken care of the entire evening! I’ll definitely be returning.

The Crunkleton : Tuesday night 6/14I have never given 5 stars? before, but I had never been to the Crunkleton. It's official, the best service, professional staff, and the best beef tomahawk steak ever! Lightly crisp crusted with a medium rare cooking request. Perfect! Witch is the reason for 5 stars! The calamari comes with a few small tomatoes and olives! Once again perfect! The bartenders very friendly and the drinks they served, with the selection of different bottles was impressive for sure. Just looking at the massive selection, challenges you enough to be creative and order some sort of a drink. I'm just saying, ask the bartenders and they are more then willing to create something soothing for this summer time heat here in Plaza mid wood. This place also handsaws it's own ice cubes to the size of the glass! The best and only way to serve whiskey, is the single cube way! "on the rock style" ! Classy place for a date! They also have a wood fired oven and grill. I can't say enough about this place without looking like a product ambassador, but I'm Not! The inside decor is and seating area are very confy, indeed. Enjoy the Tuesday night and you get a chance to go, cheers! ?

Delicious cocktails, great vibe and very accommodating staff. Although we didn’t dine here tonight, we wanted to test drive the drinks and apps. The Aperitivo Spritz was absolutely scrumptious not to mention the mussels and charred wings. We will definitely return!

@Samuel, thank you for being such and excellent waiter! Matter of fact, everyone is such an essential part of the team and that’s what makes Crunkleton a fine dining establishment! From the chic and sophisticated decor, welcoming vibes, skilled and trained cooks, servers, to the delicious cocktails, appetizers and on to the main course meal, we were all satisfied. We always eat first with our eyes. I’m glad to say the food was presented in a way that engaged my senses and tasted delicious. First time in Charlotte and I see why you all have great reviews. We’ll be back when we’re in town, even if it to just chill and relax at the bar.

We stopped here for brunch Sunday afternoon and everything was delicious. The food, drinks and customer service was great. Reason for the 4 star it took our oysters a long time to come out and our food was Luke warm but still good.

My wife and I were finally able to try Crunkleton for our first time last weekend and we loved it! Crunkleton has a slightest seoction of cocktails and also non alcoholic cocktails for people who prefer that. My wife loved her N/A cocktail and my gin gin mule was amazing. Both our entrees for dinner were perfect! The food is amazing and the customer service was very impressive. I would definitely come back to Crunkleton again. We definitely want to try their tomahawk steak next. We highly recommend making a reservation so you don’t have to wait.
