I am floored with excellent service. One of the guest concierge Patrick went above and beyond in helping me. This kind of kindness is never to be forgotten and created a loyal hotel guest on the spot. The room is clean, the bed is comfy. The bathroom towels are of the highest quality and are so soft. I got a thank you hand written note and a bottle of water next to a glass on the night stand when I came back from dinner. I will return to Charlotte just to stay at The Ballantyne.
Hotel is beautiful, service was fantastic. They are doing construction so it’s not the prettiest view from the balcony right now but we didn’t encounter any noise or anything and the plans for the site look awesome! If you run into Reginald and one other younger valet guy, your stay will be even better. They are the nicest staff members we have ever encountered at a hotel. Their bubbly personalities and big smiles make it hard to have a bad day here. They went above and beyond when our daughter hurt her finger and brought her cookies and milk. So thoughtful!
I came here for an event and stayed one night. When we arrived, and very nice porter took care of everything and took us to our room. Rooms were very clean, as well as the overall hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The view was nice, and the hotel is actively working on making it even better with upgrades. The price to performance is quite decent. I recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere luxurious to stay!
I will look for reasons to go to Charlotte to stay at The Ballantyne. After several days of traveling to various Marriott properties which are no longer maintaining their previous standards, I needed the class, style, and opulence of this hotel gem. The restaurant was great, the staff friendly and affable, a stocked mini bar (all other hotels, please take note - Bloomberg is still a pox upon the hotel industry), perfectly appointed rooms... just a great experience. My only regret was that I didn't make it to the pool, spa, or fitness center. They are building a massive entertainment space alongside the hotel, which I can't wait to see. If you find yourself in Charlotte and don't want to deal with all of the construction and hubbub of the city, stay at The Ballantyne. You absolutely will not regret it.
Worst hotel experience of my life. Came down here for a couples vacation planned with the normal activities: sitting by the pool, spa, room service, etc.. We were excited to enjoy the full resort experience; boy were we disappointed. We originally planned to stay for 3 nights but checked out a day early because the experience was so bad. Even checking out required an hour long argument with the manager. Let me start from the beginning... The room we paid extra for with "views of the golf course" was a construction site. No mention of this on the website and certainly not reflected in the nightly rate. It was dirty, the bed was hard, the balcony had a colony of roaches living on it. Called for pillows at 4pm and never received them. We were not notified that housekeeping was by request only and even when we requested it, they never came. 20% gratuity. included because they know the service is terrible. Room service was same quality as a Denny's. When we checked out, the bellboy never showed up after 40 minutes of waiting. Only redeeming part of this trip is that the spa experience was great and the staff there were quite nice and talented. Everything about staying at the hotel was a nightmare and I will not be staying at another Marriott if this is their definition of 'luxury'.
I cannot say anything nice about the treatment I received after a pleasant stay. First, they lost the key to my car. Fortunately we had a spare, but getting them to pay for a replacement was accomplished only after phone several calls and emails. I received an apology only. after I shamed them into it. Then, there is the issue of them overcharging me for drinks and breakfast that was included in my package. It took four weeks and a dozen emails for them to say that they made a mistake and would refund my credit card. No apology and no final bill that I requested. The Ballantyne staff need to learn some basic manners. I would never stay here again, and I would suggest that there are other fine choices in the area that would appreciate having guests.
We experienced exceptional service with all of our experiences at the hotel. The staff members at the front desk, restaurant, and spa were superb. Our room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. We’re looking forward to returning when all of the construction is completed. It’s going to be gorgeous!
Our stay was in January 2015. Wonderful place. Felt very high end. We had a lovely room to enjoy for just a quick weekend away. We ordered in room dining services. It was great ? we even visited the spa before departing for home. If you read this please click "like"... it helps my feelings. Thanks ?
Nice hotel and walking distance to the office. Rooms are decent size. Beds are very comfy and bathrooms are well maintained. My work did an offsite and the conference facility and food was good. Their whiskey bar and restaurant is great. Service was also awesome.
Best hotel I've stayed at yet. The hospitality was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I went down to the spa and had their signature Carolina Lavender massage and thoroughly enjoyed the service and the spa ad a whole. It was the perfect wedding night hotel.
