Aweful!Only gave one star because I was unable to give zero.Okay, so the walk-in was a pleasant welcoming. Not very busy at all.My daughter and I sit down andorder up two bowls of "Tea Smoked Noodle Duck Soup".First off, it was, to say the least about it, flavorless. If it was not for the duck in the soup, definitely blah, blane.OMG it is soup. Soup is made for just chowing/sipping down. Not here, nope, not the case.Secondly, it was full of bones and I do mean FULL of chopped bones, slivers of bones, definitely no slurping here, that's too dangerous. We had to eat the duck off the bones, so this soup easily developed into a finger soup, literally! May I say again, it's soup!Third, no waiting on us to see if perhaps we wanted or needed anything to drink, no extra napkins, no condiments for soup, nothing more, nothing...I believe a tip is warranted when the patrons needs or wants are at the very least, somewhat ok, somewhat met for that dining. Many restaurant employees today believe they deserve a tip no matter what or just because they showed up for work and brought you the food that you and I'll say it again, that you paid for...Hey it all begins in the service area and if those needs are not met, then hell no, no tip period! The waiter, the waitress they all work together with one another, a team effort, a job, so it's a win win situation. But this out right, did not deserve any tip.I give good tips, I give not so good tips, when warranted...Ok, here is the kicker ?My daughter pays for the meal and we get up and we leave. This waiter runs out of the restaurant chasing us down yelling that we took the wrong receipt because there is no tip on his receipt ?. Chased us down! Then, when I explained the service, the meal did not warrant any tip, he said ok, no big deal, no problem, fine. As we were walking away, he said "you're just shameful!"Honestly, the service and the food was shameful! You want a tip, buy Honda stocks!Check out the photo of bones and fat, you tell me.I am the patron, I am paying and it is just as simple as I can put it all, It was not an enjoyable soup to say the least and to be nice. Please stop expecting a tip just because...What is it coming to when a lousy job is performed and those people are there with their hands out still expecting something just because well you're supposed to, WHAT ?Hey, no one deserves something when wrong is just wrong! Not today, not this time. Step it up!

People always recommend Taste of SHU for authentic Szechuan food, and while I can't attest to how authentic it is - it was certainly incredibly delicious. It was a little on the pricey side for lunch (most entrees are $20), but portions are generous.

This is the best Chinese restaurant! Food was so good. Service was fast with take your time and enjoy vibes. Restaurant was very nice.

Another authentic Chinese restaurant in Charlotte. This is a Szechuan(province in southwestern China) cuisine restaurant and I grew up in Szechuan, so I can say the food here is pretty authentic. Szechuan cuisine is typically spicy and has strong flavors. If you like spicy food, you will love this place. However, I do think this place is a little over priced and the portion is small.

Food is great, not sure authentic as I am not from China.Service was good too. We were seated pretty quick. The waiter was quite friendly. The ambiance is great. My wife (a vegetarian) liked the tofu dish. My fish sizzler was pretty good as well. But if you are by yourself or a family of 2, then you have very limited choice of starter soup or appetizer. Especially if you have a vegetarian, no good choice of starter soup or appetizer at all. I did advise the waiter to consider that in future. If you are with a family of 3+, no problem.I was going to give 4 star, but decided to stick to 3 because of the reason above. Will visit when I have my family with 4+ people to join.

Really nice looking Chinese restaurant. There are large photos of all the food on the menu. Seems very authentic. Lots of dishes that are americanized listing intestines in the names and such. Portions are slightly larger than individual size. We got two dishes. One was very PF Chang's like. Highly quality chicken. The other had spices that we didn't love. They dice lots of peppers that were hard to chew so we spent a lot of time picking them out. They didn't provide forks or check on us letting our glasses of water run dry more than once. The prices were high in my opinion. But fitting the quality of the food and decor.

Best authentic Chinese in Charlotte. If you want to taste a part of the true Chinese culinary experience, come here. Sichuan staples pack a punch, heat wise, but the flavor is incredible. 好吃了!

Taste of SHU was exactly what I needed. Authentic Chinese dishes so rich in flavor; you'll lose your marbles. I couldn't believe I stumbled across this location.Well decorated on the inside. Staff was present. Service was extremely speedy. My only complaint is the pricing. The cheapest dishes seem to be around $14/15 and it continued to increase from there. Pretty expensive if you ask me.Other than that I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.Personally, I would return!

I'm disappointed....As a true Asian cuisine enthusiast, this restaurant positions itself to offer a hard-to-find cuisine. Its not often you find a Szechuan-focused place.Ill try not to rumble on, simply put: extremely expensive, portions are grossly misrepresented, and the food lacked explosive flavor like this specific cuisine should carry.Although the food was decent, the pricing wouldn't allow for a revisit. Even in Biden's America, the prices still don't make sense...its either malicious and greedy, or a nonsensical business decision. My $17 bean noodle dish titled "bean noodles and minced pork" had probably 5 Oz of noodles and one...yes ONE ounce of pork on it. $17 bucks. I know times are tough to be a restaurant, but dang, that's bad.
