Loved the open atmosphere. We had a a variety of tacos & all were good. Great food great service from Caroline! I would definitely recommend & would definitely ret

I had avoided this place for a while, as I’ve been burned by “experience” style Mexican or shall we say modern Mexican. However Southbound surprised me, I got the guacamole, and a friend got the cheese dip, both great flavor including the free salsa and chips. For the drink I got one of their on tap margaritas, minus a touch too much salt on the rim it was more than expected being on tap. Food: grabbed the beef taco special, with rice and black beans. Let’s just say the ground beef had good texture and was not mush like most beef tacos. Rice and beans could’ve had a touch more seasoning, and I’ll probably pass the next go around. All in all good food, drinks, and service.

First time eating here and I must say I really enjoyed my first time coming here. I came with some of my friends and they enjoyed themselves as well. The two margaritas that I had was absolutely delicious. I got the shrimp tacos and they were delicious as well. They had a live band tonight which was really nice. Great atmosphere nice hangout spot with friends and affordable. I will definitely be returning again.

Very cool place to eat at on a nice day. The food and drinks are good. The staff and bartenders are friendly. One of the bartenders helped us spice up one of the margaritas with a tequila we like a lot that they happened to have. The indoor outdoor vibe is my favorite type of experience for eating out. If it’s a nice day you should definitely stop by and check them out.

If there was less than one star, I would use that option for terrible service!! I stopped by this restaurant for the first time last night. I am in Charlotte for business and while driving down the street I could hear the live music which got my attention. I asked the host for a table, she was very kind and said that I could wait at the bar. I asked if I could eat there since it was just me. (Big mistake) I waited for a while to be acknowledged by the bartender, but since that never happened, I decided to ask a question about the menu. He hardly looked at me and mumble something. His attitude was very rude. I have never seen anything like it (and I eat out all the time because I travel a lot for work) I don't know his name, but he was the only person with a shaved head. I thought he maybe didn't think my order was worthy, being that I was only one person, but he was really unfriendly with the two couples eating by my side as well... The food was good and the person who brought it to me was very polite. Unfortunately, this guy's attitude was so bad and uncomfortable that I couldn't eat fast enough to get out of that place... as a matter of fact, I didn't even finish...! I never got chips, like everyone around me either. It is a shame because the environment was good and the music was lovely. The other workers were nice, but this guy, not capable of giving a friendly or at least polite service, is truly damaging your business. I hope ge gets some training or goes to an industry that is not service based!!!

Went in for lunch today around 1230. They had a 15 min wait. The set up is really nice. The booths are nice. theres couches to sit on. Theres outdoor seating. We ordered chorizo queso... its like 2 tablespoons of meat. The cheese is really good though. The elote off the cobb wasn't for me. I didn't like the cheese so im not going to say it was nasty. The birilla tacos didng have any taste. We had drinks. They were good. The waitresses were kind. They made sure we had everything we needed before walking away.

Tried out the tasty SouthBound on Saturday evening.Went with the classic chicken bowl. Very good and hardy. Chips and salsa went well with it. Tad pricier when you add a cocktail. $30 ish including the tip. Outside seating is worth it on a nice day!

The blood orange margarita was perfect! I could have had a whole pitcher of it. The food was good. It certainly was not the BEST but it was good.

Variety of good tacos, our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Each dish came out with great presentation. I do wish the salsa portions could have been a bit larger, however all together the meal was great.

We definitely enjoyed our meal at Southbound. The chips & salsa are made in-house. Full-flavored tacos and sides.
