I really like their food....when they have what I want. I've been several times and they often are out of one thing or another, today they were down a fryer and were frying a ton of chicken for one customer. Don't know how many more times I'll give them a chance.
This place was a nice surprise. I used to live in the university area and wish this place was here when I was. The location is tucked away between the Bank of America and the Bojangles. The food was great. I honestly was a little worried as the food was seating covered in the counter similar to a buffet style. Yet, it was actually good. I was able to get the meatloaf with collards and green beans. All the sides are prepared without meat so you could have a totally vegetarian meal if you wanted. My wife got the BBQ chicken with green beans and mac&cheese. The BBQ chicken was fine. Yet, the sides were way better.Definitely, recommend it.
First time I've ordered from here. Everything was delicious, but the fried chicken wings were SO SALTY I couldn't eat them. Ease on up trying to kill us with hypertension and you'll get 5 stars from me.
First time going from Salisbury after my daughter gave her recommendations, I had the hamburger steak over rice, macaroni and cheese and cabbage….EVERYTHING WAS EVERYTHING!! Good food. I will be back!!
I've eaten here several times over the years. But $10.50 + tax for two (2) wings and having to wait 20 minutes for them? Incredibly ridiculous. As much as I love the food here, I'll avoid this establishment in 2022.
Was looking for a decent meal for Xmas because I was traveling and not cooking.. I knew nothing was going to be open. So I found this place at the very last second. I pretty much purchased the ribs, the meatloaf and baked chicken. The greens were decent, but without any added meat to it, not much seasoning going on.. eatable with some salt and hot sauce. The meatloaf was pretty good, not the down home cooking type but I’d purchase again. The ribs were actually pretty good & id give them a 4:5., they were fall off the bone and the sauce was good. My son said the black eyed peas and the cabbage as well as the Mac were decent.I ate the Mac again, its bland but I like Smokey flavored Mac n cheese . My son didn’t like the yams, he said it was still some potatoes in it. This place is something to look into, I was told it’s none for some signature items, but I guess I didn’t try those myself.
great food ,great staff fast service clean
Good food. Hidden Gem! A little hard to find
Good overall. Prices are reasonable. Have to watch how long they fry chicken breasts because they ended up overcooked and dry. Outside of that, it's cool for a semi soul food place. Definitely not a complete soul food place I would write home about but they are ok for the most part.
Wish they updated the entire menu prices when they updated the specials.....but overall great food
