Nice place for a sweet cake.Its always a different flavor everytime you go...its right across from ikea and beside starbucks
We attended our cousin's birthday party at Dave & Buster's yesterday... the entire event was superbly catered; however, the cupcakes stood out as especially delicious.... they were moist and tasty; usually, I am not a fan of icing - but the icing was smooth, creamy and not overly sweet. Tj and his crew did a great job!!! Thank you!

One of my close friends birthday was this past week and I had the honor of doing a birthday photo shoot for her birthday. She kept telling don’t forget my cake and I NEED A PICTURE WITH MY CAKE!!! When she showed me what she asked for and versus what she got… I was beyond impressed! Now I see why she wanted the picture with and of the cake. Small Cakes really out did themselves with this cake. I’ve had their cupcakes (which was AMAZING!!!) in the past but I can’t wait to place my order for a cake in the near future. Job well done!
I’m from Connecticut visiting my sister in Charlotte for the holidays and was craving cupcakes which I love, so I decided to order a few cupcakes from Smallcakes.All I have to say is WOW! These are the BEST cupcakes I’ve ever had. My husband and family also agrees. They’re absolutely delicious, moist and utterly addictive. There’s no way I’m going back home without ordering more of these yummy cupcakes!!
First time there and the staff (a young man) was extremely polite and very helpful. Seemed happy to be there. Made us feel welcome. After we left and waiting at a stop sign far across the parking lot, there was a knock on our window, and the fellow had my phone! He must have ran hard to get it to me! Ok so my review has nothing to do with the service I received. The staff was courteous and receptive. Aesthetically these are beautiful cupcakes. I ordered a Ginger Snap and a Vanilla chocolate, let start with the good the cake itself is moist without being overly dense however other than the appearance of half a ginger snap cookie placed one top for decoration there was no evidence of ginger or snap in the cupcake or frosting , in fact I could not distinguish the vanilla cupcake from the ginger snap. Now to where it was a complete lost which in all honest is probably some of the worst most artificial tasting frosting I have experienced. Taste and texture were a complete miss for me. But if your not into the frosting scrap it off and enjoy the vanilla muffin.
Good customer service, clean and well organized cupcakes display.This store has a decent amount of selection and the service was exceptional.We purchased 3 different flavors and 2 of them tasted extra delicious and 1 was just average. Most of the time we feel cupcakes taste dry and just feel like a little piece of cake but not these, these tasted very moist and you can taste different flavors and texture when eating them.4 starts because being a small cake store we wish there was more than 1 flavor for keto and GF, at least at the time we visited there was only one of each.
I have gone here twice now. The first time I got half a dozen and I picked them up at 11am. They were fresh and tasted delicious. The next time I went I got a dozen and it was 1pm. Same as the first time, they were very fresh. I left them in the box that they put them in and had them the next day and they were still fresh. I am incredibly picky about my bakery. I cannot stand stale cake and I think that these are probably one of the best cupcakes I have ever had. I don't know if each location does things differently, but I go to the Charlotte location on University City Boulevard. All I can attest to is everyone in there is incredibly friendly and the cupcakes are great!
