Great place for some good Thai food. I normally get the shrimp pad thai. Be careful of the spice because it can be overwhelming. No wait for seating. Staff very nice and courteous.
Nice ambience, service can be improved, the food is too spicy even at the lowest spice level, not very vegan friendly but you can ask them to customize some dishes if you are vegan.
My 2nd experience of Thai food and they made it just AWESOME!!! I loved the taste, variety and cleanliness. Looks like most of the customers do takeout so not much crowd. Loved it!!
Food very pricey but there is a large quantity. The Crab Rangoon we're so yummy. Combination House Rice lacked flavor (for my taste buds) but with some yum yum sauce and Sriracha it did the job. The wings had flavor but no seasoning... No salt at all.The portion said on the rice was so large I ate 3 servings of it... So it was worth the price
I used to go here for lunch about 3-4 yrs ago when I worked on that side of town and the food was pretty good. So I went there yesterday and there was not a single soul in the parking lot or the restaurant. That should have clued me in. My mother and I were highly disappointed because I told her it was such a good restaurant. She did not touch anything off her plate after one taste. I ate mine but later on I was up all night in the bathroom. This place really declined and I'm never going there again.
Although the official description of Siam reads “no frills,” the interior is anything but, including gorgeous imported Thai table cloths, linen napkins, jade-colored resin flooring, live orchids and original oil paintings and sculptures that are quite ornate and exemplary of both Thai art and decor, all of which raises the above quotation very much into question beneath the lens of potential cultural ignorance(one could even further question whether Siam is being punished with an inaccurate description of its restaurant as retaliation for not participating in a certain popular internet search advertising campaign).Concerning the food, the Pad Si Ewe was rich, complex and hearty, with hints of nut and herb, authentic Thai spice level and perfectly prepared squid and vegetables; the Kang Pa was delicate, subtle and bursting with basil and red curry, again graced with exquisite squid(a difficult dish to prepare). In short, Siam is unquestionably a gem and possibly the ultimate unsung hero of greater Charlotte(for 17 years and counting). This is the Thai food for which fans of the cuisine forever search. Search no more, dear friends. Enjoy.
The waitress here is always fun. It starts the night out right to speak with someone like that before the meal.We had the new curry fries as an appetizer, which were cooked perfectly and very tasty. The Pad Si Ewe was very good the first time I ordered it, but a little too sweet the second. The Siam Rama Garden was also very good.I'll definitely be back.
I really enjoy the quality of the Thai food they have. I had Tofu tod and Pad kee mow tonight. It was amazing. Will definitely be stopping back to try some more dishes.
I use to go to this restaurant 1-2 times a week when I worked on that side of town. I now only go seldom. I am so DISAPPOINTED. The red curry with chicken was absolutely awful. The color, ingredients and taste were nothing like it was three years ago when I started eating there. Will NOT be returning.
I dont know if it's always empty like this but it was 3pm on a Wednesday, but completely empty. I was really really hoping to love the dish I ordered because I wanted to help rave so the owner would have more business. Sadly, the pad kee mao I ordered wasn't very good. The flavor was somewhat a creamy tomato sauce and the noodles were bloated and didn't have the right texture. It just didnt taste right. I asked for a small bowl of white rice to maybe help balance the heavy sauce but the rice was super dry. I had to remove some top parts and it was hard to swallow. I probably won't be coming back sadly. The owner is super nice and the business is family owned. It wasn't good for me but maybe it will be good for someone else.
