I heard about this place on social media so I had to try it out.For my appetizer I had gyoza which was delicious and for my entree I ordered ronkotsu ramen. Ive definitely had better ramen in Charlotte - it was just okay for me. I wasn't a fan of the egg and the braised pork belly ... I've had better.This was a good experience, but since I know where to find better ramen I won't return for a second visit.
Shoyu ramen was very good. The broth was not overly salty and the ingredients have not been Amercanized. If you've never been here, make sure you review the menu prior especially if you have dietary restrictions. Unlike many ramen places I've been to, Sheng Ramen is very inflexible with their ingredients and do not allow for substitutes. For instance, they would not add more mushrooms in place of a fish cake.
I really like this shopping center. The Ramen is very good, with a nice great flavor from the Miso and the noddles still having a little firmness but not being difficult to chew. This will come in handy later when I'm reheating the ramen. In my opinion, the portion size was excellent, with a generous bowl. After finishing the ramen, I had a bowl of rice to go with it to finish off the remaining broth. I've tried many Ramen restaurants in this area, but this was a great place to start. Will return.
Fantastic ramen!! Loved the octopus balls! They're awesome, savory like dumplings. They're the perfect combination of savory and sweet sauce. Loved sumptuous flavors! The Tonkotsu Ramen is fabulous! The pork belly is so flavorful and delicious. Fantastic broth, noodles and vegetables! I loved it! Definitely need a to go container but loved it. Great service and can't wait to go again! Loved my experience!
This is my go-to ramen place in Ballantyne! I always get the shoyu ramen and ask for chili. Their karaage chicken is also so so good but I ate it all before I could take a picture Their tonkatsu and spicy miso ramen are also really good! I have yet to try any rice dishes but TBD ? 10/10 love this place and wish it wasn't so busy on Friday/Saturday nights!!
On the top 3 best Ramen and Japanese joints of Charlotte. Discreet and off the beaten path. Never disappointed in 4 years visiting.
On a cold day or after a long run, there is nothing more satisfying than a trip to Sheng Ramen. The portions are huge and the food cooked perfectly every time. I always get the vegetarian ramen with added shrimp and my husband gets the tonkotsu ramen. Each bowl is paired with a different and amazing broth and noodle and usually topped with microgreens. My son recently got the teriyaki chicken and the flavor was unbelievable. The service is great and the decor simple and comfortable. GO! You'll be glad you did!
Sheng Ramen is a casual ramen shop in Ballantyne.Ambiance: low key, a small restaurant, good for 2-8 people, not large groups. Insides are clean, decor is trendy and comfortable.Service: staff is quick and efficient and yet friendly and cheerful.Food: excellent ramen. The noodles are cooked perfect. The tonkatsu broth could be a little thicker but was overall tasty. The spicy paste is well worth the extra add on if you enjoy a bit of a kick.Recommendation: tonkatsu ramen. Hands down the best of all i have tried till date. The tofu ramen is a second. The tofu appetizer is excellent as well.
If you’re craving ramen, this place will not let you down! The food was amazing I mean spectacular! I didn’t even give enough time to take pics of the fried chicken buns but I managed to capture me and my dates’ entree. CHOOSE THIS PLACE. I had the curry ramen.
Best ramen and noodles we’ve ever had. Great service, friendly people, delicious food. Will definitely come back!
