My boyfriend brought me to Sanctuary Bistro for my birthday and we had the most delicious butternut squash ravioli with cashew habanero cream sauce! Highly recommend this place. The service was great and I love the concept!
I committed to being vegan a month and a half ago and this was our first vegan restaurant. We didn’t know what to expect but I was excited to try it. I felt bad for hubby who had no clue what to order and we were not sure what a lot of the menu items were. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the delicious food, to the tranquil atmosphere and the helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely go back and try more dishes.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Intimate and thoughtful decor, beautiful food and wonderful service.Went in for a simple birthday dinner but ended up with an entire culinary experience. Can't rave enough about the absolutely delicious food, these guys have taken gluten free & vegan cuisine to new heights. The care and attention to detail here made for an all around great night. We ordered lots of different dishes because we just couldn't decide..My favorite thing was the crispy oyster mushrooms...wait....ok, maybe it was the butternut squash fried ravioli....or shoot, hold on.... okay, it was the portobello Rockefeller... or.. maybe the Lions mane steak...?? Clearly I need another visit to narrow in down. :)
Excellent service, diverse choices and high quality food. Worth the Uber from uptown. Limited seating, so reservations are a must.
If you are seeking mouthwatering culinary food with all the trappings, Sanctuary Bistro is the place to go. Of all the restaurants we visited in Charlotte, I would put this one at the top of the list for exquisite vegan food. Everything on the menu is vegan. The decorum is simple, yet elegant. The waitress offered excellent service. The restaurant is small and does not have many tables. Reservations are probably a good idea.

This is HANDS DOWN, the best vegan restaurant in Charlotte, NC!!! Every time I visit I try to come here. I visited yesterday for lunch and had the Crispy Oyster Mushroom and the Spicy Buffalo Dilla & today for brunch, I had the crispy Oyster Mushroom Waffle and vegetable polenta scramble.
Everything was excellent. The presentation is phenomenal and the food is outstanding. We ordered one dish from each section. Nothing disappointed. I would recommend everything on the menu. We can’t wait to go back!
Atmosphere is wonderful and the food is amazing. I am a very sensitive celiac and allergic to dairy so it it amazing having both needs met without sacrificing flavor. It's great to support another like-minded small business!
Sanctuary Bistro is one of the top 5 vegan restaurants in the Charlotte area! Every dish unique and full of flavor! We had the charcuterie board, fried squash ravioli, dumplings and tofu, and the lions mane steak with mashed potatoes, chimichurri and green beans. My favorite was the ravioli. it wasnt y ok ur traditional mushy pasta. They were crispy, almost like a quesadilla. and the sauce was so creamy and delicious!For dessert we had the creme brulee and the lemon chiffon cake. The creme brulee was the perfect consistency and the lemon chiffon was sweetcanf tart and perfection!The cherry on top was the waitress was also part owner and so helpful and kind and informative. She actually greeted us outside as we were trying to take a selfie in front of the restaurant and offered to take out picture. The atmosphere was wonderful, family like but very creative, ative and beautiful.This is a great place to take someone who has never experienced vegan food.
