Husband and I needed to get out of Ballantyne. Both of us ordered dishes we absolutely loved. Seasoning was perfect and portions were generous. Thank you for a great night.
Review on takeout order of1. Gyoza2. Basil chickenHonestly this place is great for a casual neighborhood Thai spot. My basil chicken was a little too salty but I feel like I can ask for it less salty next time. The flavors are certainly there. And don’t overlook the rice. I have a huge appreciation for well cooked rice and their white rice slaps.
Waitresses were superb and diligent in waiting my table, had everything we needed in a timely manner, food was mad delicious. I got the basil fried rice sub/chk to shrimp and I got the eel sushi which is soooo good, I thought it tasted more like salmon but my girlfriend says it tasted like a mix of squid and salmon, I say it tasted like salmon more so for a taste reference . But either way it tasted great ♥️Will be going back next weekend !!

Maybe I picked the wrong dish at Rai Lay Thai but the Red Snapper Trio was not what I expected what so ever. This dish was absolutely terrible. The snapper itself was well over cooked. The carrots and broccoli that came with it was steamed and nothing more. The "gravy"/sauce that came with it was interesting to say the less and did not fit the description of the dish on the menu. It taste like a package beef gravy with dried herbs thrown it it for decoration.Oh, and the pricing for this dish. Someone should talk to the chef because the cost of this meal and the quality of this food was horrendous. This meal alone was enough to not have me eat here again. However, my other party enjoyed the mango curry shrimp. I don't know if that is enough to save this review.
Driven by Rai Lay Thai a Million times and always said we have to check it out. Yesterday what felt like the coldest day in clt ever, we finally went. The green and panang curry were so delicious, flavorful and had just the right heat. We started our dinner with some fresh summer rolls and peanut sauce! We also shared an order of warm sake! We Will definitely be back. I am dying to try out the Papaya Salad but we will need to wait for warmer days for that one.
I live so far away from this place but it is so worth the drive! The flavor is outstanding. The Rosy gin exceptional. Drive past these convenient Thai spots and go for the best. Great happy atmosphere and great customer service. No rice gauging because of “inflation” their prices make sense and everyone is happy to find and pay for quality and exceptional service.
Incredible food! We had the spring rolls, gyoza, red curry, pad see you, and drunken noodles and they were all incredible. Best part by far was that they were playing One Direction the entire meal, so we know for a fact that at least someone who works there is a directioner!
The is Thai food and then there is Rai Lay. I have been to every Thai establishment in Charlotte and I never had an issue with any one of them as the food and service of all the others are great to excellent. However, Rai Lay is at another level....EXTRAORDINARY!! The food explodes with flavor on each bite and the service is next level. I will drive the extra 30 minutes passing at LEAST 5 of the best and oldest Thai spots in Charlotte to grab a bite here. The decor is average but they money they spend is making sure to not cut corners on the food quality and price.
Ordered papaya salad “extra spicy” , this is what I got. $3 extra for crab, nothing! No peppers, no crab!! Totally disappointed. Asked for utensils, nothing
