Not sure how they have so many stars but.. Two stars only because the cornbread was good and my companion liked the meatloaf….. the drink would have been good but the water from the outside of the drink machine was dripping into your cup.. ?The food had no salt whatsoever.. and the fish was just weird and not cooked on the inside but cooked on the outside… still though.. no flavor… I had baked chicken… the gravy.. amazing but indeed no seasoning on the actual chicken.. same for the bourbon chicken. The rice the gravy the Mac.. so seasoning … never again! Definitely not worth the money.
Mac and cheese has so much milk that’s all you taste yams not sweet meet loaf taste like tomato paste an the line is slow and the people serving the line are very dis functional. My first and my last time eve coming
First ate here years ago. It used to be very good. Haven't been in town for a while so when I returned this week I thought it'd be nice to have some good soul food. Ordered chicken and mac and cheese, girlfriend had chicken too. We both have had violent stomach aches, diarrhea, and have been vomiting for the past few days. I didn't even finish my chicken because it seemed old. I highly suspect they're using old food from previous days and that is big no no. You guys should be ashamed, do you really think no one's going to notice? This restaurant will be closed soon if major changes aren't made. I for one could not put myself through that again. What a shame.
The owner, Tony, is so welcoming! He was super kind to my toddlers. Now Chef Andre, he needs a PROMOTION!! He can cook his tail off! It’s like he got his grandma’s hands and spices hidden in his fingers. Each employee was knowledgeable and welcoming. If you’re from NY and looking for soul food, this is what you want ? Definitely recommend!
Hadn't been here in 2 years since I'd picked up some turkey wings for my dad. Treated my dad when he stopped by on Sunday, 2-27-22. Also stopped by last night (4-10-22) to get a quick veggie plate.My dad got the turkey with wings with the 2 included sides, an extra side, & the included drink. I tried their spaghetti with cabbage & fried okra in February. Yesterday, I had lima beans, mac & cheese, & yams. All orders had cornbread. The veggie plate came with a drink too. My dad thinks they cook the food too fast sometimes, causing meat to not be as tender as it'd be if it was slow cooked, but his food was ok this time.I loved all the cheese that came with the spaghetti; it could've had a little more sauce & flavor. The lima beans hit the spot yesterday. Just could've used a little meat, & I'm not sure what the hard green piece was at the bottom of the beans.The manager used to be in the restaurant all the time. I hadn't seen him the past few times I've stopped by. Hope he's ok.
The name says it all. Their food is by far the most authentic, flavorful, southern soul food I have ever had from a restaurant. Please come closer to Waxhaw!
Alright guys you made the list of places I love to eat now. ??? When I tell y'all the food was amazing. Even tho they were about to close food was still hot and fresh. My husband and I will truly be back again. When y'all come to the Charlotte area it's a must you stop by. Not to mention the staff, our server was so polite and patient with us (even tho he was ready to go) ?.
This place is awesome! It is truly soul food without a whole lot of grease. Fantastic Flavor! And the price is right. I loved when the cook came out and asked about the food. He was such a gentleman. And the servers, they know how to make the customer feel special. Queens knows how to make you feel like royalty!
My dining experience at Queen's Soul Food has been awesome! The food, prepared by Chef Andre' is always so delicious and cooked to perfection. I come for lunch several times a week and always enjoy my meal. I highly recommend anything on the menu.
Very good food always have a hard time deciding what to get but whatever I get I'm never disappointed. The customer service is great along with the food.
