Perfect way to unwind after a long day. Really cool environment with tasty beer and pizza. The wait was what wpuld be expected and the staff kept us in communication with us the whole time. It was packed when we went so totally understandable. Turns out my grandma was right, "good things are with the wait." If I'm being honest tasty cold beer makes waiting a whole lot easier too. The slices we ordered where giant, and the ingredients tasted better than you usual beer and pizza joint. I will hit Protagonist again the next time I'm in town.
The overall vibe of this place is amazing. From the outdoor open and covered seating to the indoor space with plenty of seating for both after work drinks and private events, this place has it all. The owners, while being from that other state (GO BLUE) have a clear theme in mind...communal good times!Now, I'm no beer connoisseur, yet I've had my fair share and have frequent many a breweries. The selection was decent; yet, they could have carried more sours, ciders, and other drinks from liquor to soft drinks to cater to the masses. I had the guest cider which I'm assuming came from cider worls 2 doors down.With that said, their PIZZA...oh wow. I think their food was better than their drinks which says alot for a brewery. Those pies were HUGE (see photos). While the crust was not as soft as Buzzed Viking Brewery (see my earlier post), the quantity sure did surpass all expectations.I would definitely come here again especially on the whiskey Wednesday nights.
I don't normally take the time to leave a review. However, I feel it necessary. The signage inside the business states that if you order a whole pizza the Wait time is 60 minutes. In order to avoid the long wait time my wife and I ordered 1 slice of pizza. We waited well over an hour for 1 slice of pizza with no communication. As a business owner this is unacceptable. Management should better communicate customer expectations up front. This establishment knows they are going to be busy on a Saturday. Please, communicate better. I recommend not going on the weekend for food if you are remotely hungry.

Great cocktail and beer selection. Modern interior with delicious pizza. Fabulous location with other breweries across the street. Fireplace on the second level with easy access to order drinks.
What a fantastic weekend birthday. Emmit the MOD was superb and so was his team. Outside patio and indoor facilities super clean and welcoming atmosphere for friends and family to share a pint and hot slice of really fresh pizza. We will be back for sure! Thank you again, for making it a special day for our family birthday celebration!
Love Protagonist! Great space, plenty of room inside and out and surprisingly delicious pizza! Beers are always solid and lots of other drink choices too - especially when served up from our favorite Irish bartender, Emmet!
The pizza was amazing and the size of your head. The meatballs were pretty nice too. Go on ahead and go here.
My wife, baby, and I went here for dinner last night after hearing about how great their pizzas were. Pulling up to the area we saw that the parking lots surrounding Protagonist all cost money to park at. Thankfully we were able to find an area along the road to park. From the outside the building looks new, clean, and inviting. As you walk in the taproom with all the seating is on the left and the area where you can order your pizza is on the right. Thankfully for me they had a few taps on the pizza side which included the one I wanted.The woman behind the counter was communicative and friendly, commenting on the craziness of my little girl's hair. She was helpful during the ordering process and made it easy for me to have my girl in one hand and do all the paying with the other. We ordered their bbq chicken pizza and I got a blonde ale.The indoor seating was competitive as they were holding an event in the balcony area. Thankfully my wife found a spot in the corner where we could sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The lighting was warm and it felt comfortable inside. The pizza was delicious, the crust was slightly sweet, and the beer was the perfect compliment.The major thing I would improve upon for this site is to add heating elements outside. There is just as much seating outdoors as there is indoors, yet it was so cold that it would not have been comfortable to be out there for long.
