Excellent on all levels - food was delicious, ambience was lovely, service was non-intrusive but attentive. Just wonderful, might make this a regular date spot for me and my wife. I liked it so much that I asked my wife (who is an excellent waitress) if she would like to work here, and she said, "I considered it, but then I would lose it as a special date place" Portofino's is highly recommended as a date place. Excellent! I came here today (Eastway location) because I saw a picture of calamari salad. I have been looking for a good calamari salad and am so glad I found one here today. So delicious, perfect summer salad. I also appreciated the wonderful service ?
Dinner was delicious. The side salad served with dinner left something to be desired but the appetizer, dinner ,and server were great. Will definately go back and request a Caesar salad next time.
Visiting from out of town and was in hopes to find a good, quaint Italian spot. That was not the case with this restaurant. This is nothing more than a pizza joint. Our server was good. Food was not good at all. Atmosphere is very casual and old. Steady flow of people picking up pizzas so maybe the pizzas are better than the meals.

Amazing food and service, my go to. I hate to say this because she seems super sweet but omg the hostess adds 5+ minutes to every take out order. Repeats questions countless of times, or if you’re waiting on an order she’ll say “it’ll be right out” but doesn’t mention to anyone else that someone is waiting on food so nobody knows to bring it out. Heard another lady trying to order and asked if kids meals comes with a side. Her response was just “i don’t know” maybe that’s something you go ask if you don’t know? I am aware how slow she is so I called in my order instead of have to go in and order thru her. She was there and paid with her thru register while I saw my food ready to go. She just sat there saying it’ll be out soon while barely whispering to the cook across room that I’m here. Claiming she couldn’t reach the top of the counter to get it herself. Idk just frustrating especially she went over minutes later and grab it... would just suggest more training so her confidence in doing the job goes up but being scared to walk behind the counter to ask a question or grab an order is kinda bad
The meal that was requested to be made different than asked. I asked for light mushrooms and heavy sauce. Received the meal with extra mushrooms and light sauce. We told the waiter, he said we were wrong it was made correctly. When I asked for our waiter to come back later he was no where to be found. I asked the person who stopped at our table to fill up our water glasses if she could get him. She said yes. Left and the waiter did not come back to our table but went outside to take care of another customer and talked to them for over 10 minutes. At this time my meal could not be corrected before it was cold. Had another person come to the table, we explained what we had asked and if we could get the extra sauce and to-go containers for our other meals. They said it would be $5 extra for piccata sauce. They said there would not have been a charge if we asked for this at the time of ordering. We told her we did. We said ok to the charge since without it, it would be dried out. Then they put it in a container and had it in a bag and said it was hot and they placed it in our bag with our other food. It leaked all over, so half was wasted and the butter/wine sauce went into all the all food we took home. It was so salty from the capers it could not be eaten later. We asked that a salad that was included in our meal be a take home. They forgot that and when we got got we realized it and it was too late to return. After visiting their restaurant over 30 times in the last couple years we will not be returning. The service and food is not worth the cost of getting things wrong and being charged for something that leaked all over the other food and bag and tasted horrible.
When we went at lunch, service was super, however food was terrible and definite over price . Do not order the Chef Salad if you want a Chef salad. They some how manage to screw up making a salad. No lettuce on the salad and charge a $1.25 for extra dressing. Tell everyone to go else where to eat. You are wasting your money if you eat here.
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Relaxed. Fantastic food. One of Charlotte's finest Italian restaurants.
