This place is amazing. Food is top notch, consistent, and the staff is always friendly. I typically order take out and have never had a bad experience here.

Was my first visit to this restaurant. The pho is absolutely delicious. Fresh vegetables with some beef is a great mix. The service was great and prices were reasonable. Would definitely come back again.

First time visiting and EXCELLENT food and customer service by Jenny! Highly recommend the "White Rice House Special" so glad I love super close! I will be back!

We waited over 25min to sit when the restaurant had plenty of open tables. We then waited another 25 min for someone to come take our order (after asking for some one to come by 2 times already). We then waited an additional 30min for the food to come, which is very long for pho even on a busy day, and this place was NOT busy. And when the food finally came? It was quite sad. We were missing multiple ingredients, told they were out of certain things even though they’re right next to a huge Asian grocery, and when asking if we could pay more for extra meat (they give you obly two tiny slices of each meat) we were denied and told they don’t allow that due to “shortages”……what? Again we are right next to a fully stocked grocery and I’ve seen so many reviews below saying the same thing about limes, dipping sauces, meats, etc. This makes absolutely no sense at all. And on top of that? They give you maybe half a handful of noodles. At best. I got a large bowl and left hungry. My wife finished her regular bowl (which she’s never finished a whole pho before as it’s usually too much for her) and she also left hungry. I should have taken a picture of the bowls to show the absolutely emptiness that were these bowls given to us, but we were so hungry after such a ridiculous wait I didn’t even think of it. And the flavor? Lacking at best. My wife’s pho was mediocre but edible and my spicy ham soup was off tasting and bland. Did I mention they’re raising their prices too? Haha they already give you a child’s size portion of bland soup and now they want to charge you 17.99 for it! Don’t waste your time or money here, there are plenty of much better pho and Vietnamese restaurants in Charlotte that deserve your patronage!!Also got a bubble tea next door while I waited for a table and they wouldn’t let me bring it in the store. Not even left in the bag, sealed, and under the table. I had to leave and put it in my car before they let me in!! Would give 0 stars if possible.

1. The wait: we arrived at 2:30pm on a non-busy Sunday. There were 2 empty clean tables and 2 dirty but empty tables. Only 1 group waiting. We were then told it would be about a 15min wait for the table anyway but that’s fine, so we left and got bubble tea next door. 25min later we finally get to sit down at a table (with 3 tables still clean and empty…..) We then proceeded to wait an additional 20min just for anyone to come by and take our order…..we actually had to ask 2 times for someone to take our order before they did eventually come by. We ordered a pho with steak, tripe, and meatballs (cost $1 extra for meatballs) and a bo bun hue (spicy noodles with 3 kinds of meat). We were told they were out of 1 of the meats for the spicy noodles, that was fine. But then we waited again…..and we weren’t the only ones. With only about 6 tables seated, only 1 had food, 3 were waiting for their orders, and 2 were still waiting for their orders to be taken at all. There were multiple inquiries of good times from us and the other tables as time kept passing and no bowls came out. Never once have we had to wait longer than 5-10min for a good bowl of pho even at a busy place. It took over 30min of additional waiting before we got two sad bowls of soup. 2. The food: When the bowls arrived, I noticed the pho had no tripe at all and only 2 slices of meatballs ($1 upcharge?). So I inquired, and was told that they only give two meatballs per order. But it wasn’t two meatballs, it was half a meatball cut into two quarter pieces. You’re charged an extra dollar for half a meatball. What? Okay, so I asked if I could pay more for another order of meatballs because that’s too little. I was told no, not even if I paid extra would I be allowed more meatballs because they don’t allow that due to “shortages”. If you read more reviews you’ll note that they use that reason for any item. I’ve read on here they said no extra sauce, limes, meat, noodles, anything anyone asked for additional of was denied “due to shortages” even if you offered to pay more. PLEASE NOTE: THEY ARE LOCATED RIGHT BESIDE THE BIGGEST ASIAN GROCERY STORE IN CHARLOTTE AND COULD LITERALLY WALK TO RESTOCK IF NEEDED. And this isn’t a new issue for them, I see they’ve been “out of stock” or “low in stock” of so many ingredients for years in their reviews. I’m not sure if this is sketchy business practices or mismanagement or cheapness but something is weird. But back to the food, they were out of tripe and I guess didn’t feel the need to let me know when they brought the food out lol. Each meat was 2 pieces each max. And the noodles?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an empty bowl of pho in my LIFE. I have never finished a whole bowl of noodles before, ever. It’s usually full and way too much for me to eat. But this bowl? I finished entirely and was still hungry afterwards. I could have probably finished 3 whole bowls, that’s how little it was. My husband ordered a large bowl, and it was the exact same thing. 3. The flavor: lacking at best, but I guess that makes sense with the lack of ingredients. I could only assume they go small and cheap making their soup broths too. The pho broth was alright, not something to suggest another to try out but not bad. The bo bun hue was not good. It somehow tasted like a seafood broth? But at the same time it was also bland as hell! Lol it made no sense, and freaked me out a bit honestly. Why would it taste fishy? They don’t even have fish in this restaurant…..had it gone bad? I guess we shall see if my husband gets sick from it lol. 4. The prices: they charge 17.99 for a large bowl of nothing and 13.99 for a regular bowl of nothing lol. These aren’t too bad if you got an actual bowl of pho, but you don’t. They raised their prices this month they told me, not sure why as they don’t give you enough food to even warrant 6.00 a bowl lol. I’d say their normal bowl would feed a child at best. Probably not even a very hungry one. Also note: NO OUTSIDE DRINKS ALLOWED. If you get a bubble tea from next door they will make you leave it in your car.

Great Vietnamese cuisine in a nice, simple atmosphere.Good Pho selection, alongside other Vietnamese favorites.Highly recommend!

My First Visit was wonderful. Visiting from N.Y.C a place of good Cuisine. Pho Hurong Que was the perfect family spot to just Chill after a long day. A dress down restaurant with a variety of good, healthy food with excellent prices. Nice welcoming atmosphere, mix crowd with only good food in mind. Thank you Ms Anna, see you soon.

I am conflicted because this was the longest wait time I have ever had at a restaurant to have a server even come up and talk to us, get drinks, get appetizers, and finally over an hour later get our food. We were hangry, annoyed, and wanted to just leave but had already ordered. However, this was also the best Vietnamese food I have had in Charlotte. I was ready to leave a 1 star review because of the service, but after we finished our meal, we talked to the daughter of the owners who was taking orders, bussing tables, and bringing out food by herself and learned that on top of the normal rush of a weekend, they had two employees call out and they had nearly double the dinner orders they ever get on a weekend. Her parents do all of the cooking and they have no backups, so when people call out it ends up critically affecting their ability to provide timely service and food. I think they need to reconsider the sustainability of their business model for their own sanity and that of their customers, but they are also making it work running a small family business and making incredible food. I would pay higher prices for them to be fully staffed and reduce wait times. I will be back to give them another chance because the food truly was that good.

We are so bummed that we wont be coming back. After our last visit we said " if we had never been there before and had this experience we would never come back if it wasn't one of our favorite restaurants already".We love it here...but we arent sure why.Drinks take so long to arrive sometimes you forgot you ordered something. Our food this last time took over an hour to arrive, after we asked to order when no one was taking our order for so long. Then we were left asking for chop sticks and spoons. They weren't busy, in fact we were one of just a few tables waiting for food.I hope we just caught them on a bad day but we won't be backThe food is great but not amazing. If you are looking for a good meal this place won't disappoint but if you are looking for good, quick service its definitely not here.
