All the donuts are amazing! The Tiramisu flavor is on point and oh, so delicious! The dough is the right balance of chewy and fluffy. From spicy to sweet, they have a donut for you!
Reviewing knowing they were vegan and hence would never be quite as good and fluffy as they non-vegan counterparts, I would say that flavours are really really good and overall, texture is good.Try the mango/passionfruit habanero if it’s there and you like a kick and the coffee orange zest for a more subtle but great flavor experience!However, they dry out really fast, which is a big shame. We bought ours around 10:45am, so I guess they hadn’t been laying there for long, but they had already hardened just a bit - and the next morning we ate something more like hardened sand. Will only deduct one star for texture, dryness though as I believe vegan donuts should always be eaten same day.
Just got an assortment delivered, and was so looking forward to cheating the diet with a delicious feast, and while the flavors were interesting and innovative, the actual doughnuts were dry dry dry. Think two day old supermarket discount bag dry. Like stale bread. Like firm very firm to the touch. Like dunk it in milk to choke it down. Hardly worth the calories, much less the premium price. Think twice if you don't want to be really disappointed. Seems like someone forgot to make fresh doughnuts... This entire week.
Absolutely love the donuts here and the fact that they are almost ALL vegan makes it even better!This is one of those times where you could give one of these to somebody, and them have no idea its got no animal products in jt!
Just wonderful!! I bought these for a vegan friend of mine. It was her birthday. I can’t say enough about how delicious they were plus they provided a flavor key so we knew what each one was. They also added a personal touch by writing happy birthday on the box. Thanks again for providing the perfect way to wish a wonderful person a happy birthday!!!
Fluffy, mouth-watering and variety of vegan doughnuts. Each bite was fully of delicious flavor. Plenty of seating and some outside seating. The banana pudding doughnut was the perfect mid-morning treat.
Quick and fast service. Doughnuts are awesome. Great place to stop in and grab a quick donut and drink. Love that they switch gloves to not cross contaminate the other doughnuts when handling the ones with nuts. We will definitely come again when we are in town.
I really wanted to like this place, but the last few times I have gone they do not have the donuts ready that I wanted from the limited menu. I won’t be going back, it is too frustrating.FOLLOW UP TO OWNER RESPONSEI did show up early. 7:30 am each time. You did not have ANY ready yet. I was told it would be another hour. If you are going to suggest your customers show up early to buy your donuts, I suggest you have them made.
THE BEST doughnuts ever! They reign supreme over any I've had in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, NYC, or DC (I like to get local doughnuts and coffee for breakfast when I'm visiting somewhere). The doughnut menu rotates, and they source a lot of ingredients locally. I dig the Design Center location in SouthEnd and the new spot in NoDa. Staff are friendly and professional. Service is on point. Drink menu has waaaay more options than you'll find at most doughnut joints (I recommend the nitro cold brew and the oat milk cortado) with rotating house specials (bonus points for drinks with pun names!) that include house-made mineral water, sodas, and kombucha. We had a variety of flavors from Pepperbox at our wedding reception, and people lost their minds, especially the out-of-towners who can't get this kind of goodness where they live. And our DOUGHNUT WEDDING CAKE (yep, that is indeed a dream you can make a reality) was gorgeous and much tastier than normal wedding cake. The picture below of our wedding doughnuts does not do them justice. Top 3 Clt food spots I recommend to my out-of-town friends when they visit!
1 star is even overrated. When you charge they money they do and call the donuts “chef driven” you might want to follow that up with a quality product. We were all extremely disappointed in the product and taste. We all love to support small businesses in the city of Charlotte and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately pepperbox will be erased from that list.
