This place is absolutely exceptional. The atmosphere, food, and service are all top notch. I have tried many items off the menu, spanning from appetizers to dessert, and not one of them has disappointed in the slightest. The owner is also the chef, and he is personal and charming. We love everything about his restaurant and cannot recommend it enough.
Great Italian restaurants in South Charlotte. Always quality dishes. Great wine selection. Friendly and helpful staff.
The friendly atmosphere is beyond amazing! Great food doesn’t hurt either.
This place has no customer service. Ordered over $250 online and they cancelled my order at 920 pm without a phone call. Talked to owner and obviously does not care about business. Thanks for making my Father’s Day dinner. Guess does not need business and no customer service. Pitiful. One chance in charlotte and many better Italian restaurants for dinner. Will gladly give you other suggestions. So pissed
Though the menu is a tad limited for Italian, this is the perfect example of "less is more" and doing fewer things extremely well! The bruschetta is the best I've had (ever!) and I've quite the history in upstate New York, Chicago, New Jersey, and many other places noted for fine Italian. The eggplant was superb, as was the lasagna, and the house specialty cocktails were extraordinary!Top this all off with superior service from William, cooked with a early lighted cozy atmosphere, and you have the makings of a wonderful and surprisingly good evening! We'll most certainly be back!
First time eating at the restaurant. Sue was our waitress, she was very accommodating. The food was amazing, pasta homemade. Everyone was friendly and attentive made us feel very comfortable. My daughter and I will definitely come back. Thank you for making our dinner enjoyable ☺
On open door I asked to be seated away from the restroom. We were indeed placed very far from the restroom. Unfortunately, it was also by the open area awning that had a draft on a chilly evening. We were relocated without drama. Octopus and mussel starters were excellent. Bread was also very good. The evenings special - lamb ravioli was excellent. Chicken parmigiana pasta was substituted with penne - again without drama. Management came by to ask if everything was going well. Like all American restaurants, a little too dark. Yes, subjective but lighting should allow food colors to be viewed easily and correctly. I also saw a woman using her cellphone light to read the menu. Wine list was very good. Restroom was clean. Definitely return.
We were excited to try Oggi after reading the reviews. However, we were sorely disappointed with the food and service. The meatballs and salad were good, as was the ravioli with sage butter. The lasagna was way too meaty and missing the ricotta. Worse, however, was having our waiter rush by our table 20 times, and tell us we had to order all of our menu items at one time because they had a lot of reservations that night. The whole night felt like the 2-star restaurant in a strip mall that it seems to be. Not at all what we expected, and not a place I would recommend. .
What a perfect night we had at OGGi. Manager moved our reservation and then our table to make sure everything was the best. The entire wait staff was just next level. Lots of meals have a "good waiter" but rarely do you get literal richy rich's butler level skills and attentiveness to every detail. Such amazing trained staff. Had Tuna tar tar appetizer and it was simply fantastic. Had Filet and crab ravioli at our table and both were good, the scalloped potatos were fantastic. Had flan and mango cheesecake from the large desert menu and my wife almost left me for the flan it was so good.Really perfect night, their staff made it worth every minute and penny. Wife is home browilsing their menu (deserts) for our next visit the next morning. Thanks so much guys.
Absolutely knocked it out of the park. The service (S/o our waiter Trent) and the food were fantastic and while it is a cozier place the space was more than enough. The drinks and food were really good. Highly recommend the broccoli rabe and chicken/ eggplant parmigiana. The special dishes were also amazing and profiteroles (not pictured) were a tasty dessert!
