Although I go here pretty often... And get something simple, my fiance can never walk past here without getting food. He absolutely loves it! He can get some food to go or sit down and eat and this place is always packed! It's not really my cup of tea particularly but I know people absolutely love this place and so does he! I do like stopping in for a quick bite to eat or drink when I am hungry after shopping for a day. I know that the place is clean and well taken care of and run by great people. I would definitely recommend stopping at this little gem of a place for a bite to eat, all types of people come here.... It really feels like you're sitting at your family's dinner table with the buzz of other family members sitting around you, it's always really friendly and even the other customers here are always really nice and friendly. Just an overall amazing atmosphere. Sometimes I go in there just to get a quick drink because I always like going in and seeing the people. What an interesting place!

I don’t really post reviews but I had to rave about this restaurant. I’ve had Ethiopian food in NYC and this was just as fantastic. Everything was made fresh, felt home made and delicious. We just asked the owner what she recommends and we got vegetarian and meat options. Will be visiting again.

Today was my first experience with Ethiopian food and i will definitely be back for more. Everyone was friendly and provided information on the menu and helped me with making a selection. My next visit I plan on trying the tea If you are in Charlotte and wanting something good to eat please stop by and visit this restaurant/shop.

Having lived in Ethiopia, I can say that this is really close to the real deal. It's difficult to hide behind injera and it is truly delicious here. Vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes are prepared to order, perfect for sharing. Ethiopian food is never fast, so order ahead if you are in a rush. A down to earth local eatery worth trying if you've never had Ethiopia before.

Amazing overall experience. I was here yesterday for my first time and was blown away. I do not remember the name of the beef dish i ordered but it was high quality, well seasoned, cooked to perfection beef. My friend got the veggie option and i tried all of her food and it was great as well. The woman who cooked our food (im assuming one of the owners) was the best host. The tea alone is worth going for. Thank you so much for such a great experience. I will be back.

The food was amazing! We will definitely come back my husband and I drove two hours to get to this location the food was homemade the Injera bread was so soft and light the vegetables OMG! I can’t even explain the flavors. I remember corn, collard greens, and some other type of veggie stews, it was amazing! We started with coffee with no sugar it was quite tasty but of course all coffee with no sugar you know it’s bitter, but it was amazing as well the tea I cannot even explain so many flavors! We will definitely be back thank you for the hospitality and the great food. This location also has a different variety of items from popcorn kernels, grains, to home decor definitely a one stop shop amazing people great customer service. Great Prices! We ordered the veggie platter and Beef Tibs.

Went to this place for the first time today for my birthday and the food was amazinggggggg!!! Affordable, authentic and delicious. The owner was the sweetest, making sure we had everything we needed for an amazing experience. This was my first time eating Ethiopian, I was afraid because when looking at the menu most items had jalapeños in it, but they ask how spicy you like your food and make it to your liking. I also had the hot tea and it was really good with agave in it. I'm definitely going back and would reccomend this to anyone in Charlotte looking for amazing food and service ??

Just go try it! That’s all I have to say. Tsigay is one of a kind. This isn’t your normal restaurant experience. You get to experience Ethiopian hospitality along with homemade cooking. Don’t forget to shop around (Yeap I said shop?) grab organic Ethiopian coffee beans along with spices and hand made cultural crafts.

A video about the Nile restaurant popped up on Instagram and I knew I had to go! It is a tiny little spot, but like most tiny little spots, it is some of the best food I have ever had. My friend and I were full of questions and the fantastic lady who took care of us answered them all with patience and a smile. I was most excited to try the coffee and it was, without doubt, the coolest experience and best coffee I have ever had. You've got to go to the Nile!!!

Want an authentic Ethiopian with no frills? This is the spot. Relax while your food is made to order. The owner is kind and attentive. We finished everything and were even able to purchase some frankincense and myrrh.
