I went at 11:10 to bring in my Birthday. The bar closes at midnight. The server came over and said the kitchen was closed. I asked even for French fries, which isn't a stupid question because most often the kitchen won't make meat or big meals. I was told with an attitude once again the kitchen was closed. I don't have a hearing problem and asked a very specific question which could have been answered beginning with basic customer service skills, I'm sorry, not even for French fries would have sufficed. I went over to Press Box who was still serving food an hour before closing and had great customer service. Might I add as well that Stats serves food close to closing as well.
This place is small but great atmosphere and music. Music was a mix between Rnb and hip hop. The food portions wasn't to great but the food was good. The drinks were good and strong. Will defintely be going back to try other items on the menu. It wasn't too crowded either I went on a Saturday night nice chill atmosphere which was a plus.
We came in late and was told the kitchen was closed and the owner, Russell, said "don't worry, I got you, get these fine people a table", true story... Russell is the nicest guy and took care of our family and day and talked with us over an hour just chatting it up... he won our family over for sure. On top of that the food was fantastic. I LOVED their wings and the fried egg roll was incredible. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Our waitress, Monique, was the sweetest thing.
OMG the food was bomb. The service was excellent. And the food was made correctly in a timely fashion. A great business meeting atmosphere. Also I found out that the restaurant was named after the owners son. So support our black businesses. This is the IT FACTOR. If I lived down there I would eat there every day. It was the first place in North Carolina I ate at and I did not get sick. Thank you ?? guys come up to CINCINNATI, Ohio ?
We felt rushed out. The wife of the owner kinda of rush us out because we were finish eating and just talking. She wanted to make space for customers waiting. We thought it was rude. The food was good but that kind of rubbed us the worst way. Will not be going back.
Atmosphere was great, Our waitress, Anitra, was attentive and checked on us often, the kitchen made the food quickly, the wings were saucy and crispy!! Everything was piping hot!! Definitely going back!!!
Very disappointed in the quality this go around… I order wings here often and these are not the norm idk what happen to the sauce but change it back … This is supposed to be Honey Chipotle &Mambo ? Where ? Also when i called in the “Cook/MOD” was so rude and had ZERO customer service. 2 stars because i normally love the wings
I visited this place last night and it was far from a great experience. My best friend and I had visited this place 2 weeks prior and had an amazing time. Thought we'd try it again yesterday after work and mann. It really made me disappointed. There was a drunk older woman at the bar screaming to the top of her lungs for 4 hours which was the whole duration of the time we were there. She was still there when we left. Also the bartender was not very attentive at all waited 15 mins for drinks and even longer for food and the place wasn't even packed. None of the employees or manager did anything about it instead they laughed with the drunk woman as she continued to scream to the top of her lungs at every song that came on. The manager that was there offered me and my friend cheesecake as compensation for this madness... Really? Why not just escort this woman out of the resturant i would of took that over some dessert.. Needless to say I am aware that this is a black owned business and I always try to support but man if this was any other establishment that woman would of been asked to leave not encouraged to keep acting a fool ruining other peoples experience. On a positive note the Caucasian bartender that worked there when we went 2 weeks ago she was AMAZING and deserves a raise and praise !
Nice date night place. Sports bar like but intimate.
I had never heard of this spot when a friend recommended it. But I was willing to give it a try. As others have stated, it is located in a strip mall. Upon entering, the restaurant is cute but small. There is a large bar with a row of tables behind it. I visited with 4 friends on a Thursday evening. It was near empty when we arrived but started filling up by the time we left. Our server was very attentive throughout our time there. She was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. A friend ordered the calamari appetizer, which was very good. I ordered the rum punch to drink. It was strong and good. For my dinner, I ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer with a side of collard greens. Even though it was an appetizer, the shrimp and grits was a generous portion. Although it looked delicious, I felt like I could have benefitted from more seasoning. The flavor of the collard greens was just ok to me.If you are going, the wings are definitely the star of the show. Two of my friends ordered wings and were very happy.Upon checkout, we noticed that the price of the drinks was broken down into the individual components. However, we had been upcharged to the more top tier rum even though we requested it. After bringing it to our attention, the waitress removed the charge. Gratuity was also automatically included.Based on my food experience only, I have mixed feelings about whether or not I would return. Especially since there are so many great restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, I just wasn't blown away.
