Really wanted to enjoy some good soul food. Fried chicken must have sat for hours. It was essentially chicken jerky. I can eat anything but left most of this in my styrofoam container. Great tea. Sides were okay but lackluster. Cannot recommend .

All of the sides were seasoned well and the entrees were cooked just as I like! First visit, I had fried chicken, greens, yams, cornbread, and peach cobbler. Second visit, fried pork chop, cabbage, black eyed peas, cornbread and sweet potato pie. Everything was so delicious!!

The food made me want to sing. I had the smothered pork chop, ribs, and the meatball with gravy, and they even added some soul to the meatballs. The food is great it tastes Southern and it is Southern! Every time i went the servers were great the service great, quick reliable hot food. Before you spend all that money on a dry burger or chicken samwich! Get yourself some real soul in your Food! (don't sleep on the extra sides get a vege plate its cheaper than getting extra sides separately.. mac an cheese next day Yum!)

Went there for peach cobbler and banana pudding. Peach cobbler was average because it was a little two sweet for my taste with not enough cinnamon flavor. It was the beast peach cobbler I tasted in Charlotte. The banana pudding was really good. Had. Good smooth tast. The bannas were fresh and they added a couple extra vanilla wayfarer in the to go container.

We were staying in a hotel nearby and found this restaurant through TripAdvisor. What a wonderful surprise. It’s location in a strip mall put us off a little at first but once we got inside it was clean the service was friendly and wonderful and the food was way beyond our expectations. The fried chicken, the curry chicken, and the collard greens were amazing. Would definitely return at any opportunity.

Cheap ingredients being used for Mac & Cheese. The 1 piece of fried catfish I was given had absolutely no taste to it. Literally tasted like it was dipped in batter and straight in oil without seasoning. Collards tasted good. Prices apparently had increased recently as well + card service fee. So spent almost $17 for subpar lunch. Icing on cake was I was given order of person behind me and had to come back to counter. Once given my correct order my cornbread was left off. Just an overall disappointing experience.

We had an overnight stay in Charlotte and found this restaurant. The food was so good, we returned the next day to pick up meals to take with us on the next leg of our vacation. Definitely would recommend the catfish, greens and black eyed peas.

This restaurant was highly rated so I expected to be knocked off of my seat when eating there. It was okay, but not a 5 star to me. I ordered the fried chicken and smothered pork chops. The chicken was okay as fried chicken goes and the smothered pork chop was tender, but not seasoned. The best part of the meal were the sides (green beans and cabbage). I don't think it was cooked with pork, but the flavor was really good!!

The Meats were seasoned & fried to perfection & sweet potatoes were yummy ? but the potato salad tasted store bought, collard greens far too much sugar, and stuffing was different. My 1st time going but wasn't expecting it to be like a fast food setup... small on customer service

Absolute biggest rip off I’ve ever seen. Way way way too expensive. I’m from NYC. The food is more(wholesale) ….rent, workers pay is literally double what a business would pay for down here. So how is it that everything is less expensive in NC and they give you double maybe even triple (I’m not exaggerating) the amount of food in NY and the plates are less money!!!! Nana’s portions of food is pathetic. They use an ice cream scooper to serve the sides and ridiculously give you one scoop. You have to beg for anything extra from they’re staff and get charged for every little thing. Plus how are we down south and soul food is not even good. My Grandma was from Darlington,SC, Bless her soul and her food would have put yours to shame!! Your recipes that you respond with for negative reviews are horrendous. You need to clean house especially the cooks. Come up w better new recipes and start over. Jamaicans in NY cook better soul food. That’s pretty embarrassing. Save your money complete rip off. Went twice never again. The search continues
