First times a charm. Walked into an amazing atmosphere with a simple menu and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?
Mugs used to be one of my favorite local coffee shops to work at or hang out at with my fiance. We've even done some of our wedding planning there. I love the atmosphere and the cozy seating. The coffee is not the best, as other reviews have said, but I don't mind — I like most coffee.Unfortunately, I've stopped visiting Mugs even though I live 2 minutes away. The problem is one barista (or friend of the baristas?) who hangs out there in the afternoons and is EXTREMELY LOUD. It's clear that people are there working or doing homework, but she can be heard at every corner of the establishment. I can even hear her when I wear my noise-cancelling earbuds. She chats with the baristas at the bar, cusses excessively, and talks negatively about her friends or her boyfriend. I can't get any work done there because I can't hear my own thoughts. Very sad to have to move on from Mugs.
Very friendly workers, and a good community vibe for a coffee place, but... they were out of all of their food, and that was some of the worst, most burnt coffee I've had in a while.If you're gonna be a coffee shop, you've gotta get the coffee right. :/
First time being there. Fantastic coffee shop. A little hidden gem of a place. A Huge Thank You to the barista who explained the sweetness levels of the tea and coffee. Thank you for taking your time to explain. Wonderful staff and great coffee.
I’ve made Mugs my morning office a couple of times a week. I think I’ve met most of the regulars as well as the occasional dog that walks in and makes itself at home. Oliver always has a full staff of upbeat baristas. It’s the perfect place for a quick business meeting or casual get together. You should give Mugs a try.
My family and especially my husband, frequent Mugs coffee. The coffee, hot chocolate, and breakfast sandwiches are always fantastic. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are friendly and treat us like family.

Mugs is a great coffee house! The coffee was smooth and rich. What I really love about this coffee shop is that they don't kill you with way to much sugar. My coffee was literally perfect with a real coffee flavor, not dressed up in so much syrup that you can't taste the actual coffee. Definitely a favorite place for a cup and some art.
Mugs is one of my favorite coffee shops in Charlotte! It is cozy and the drinks are so tasty, creative, and unique combinations. Keep doing you Mugs!
