Fast, friendly service from knowledgeable wait staff. The food, ribs, brisket, pimento fries, slaw, broccoli casserole, Mac/cheese were all wonderful. I got collards but they were too seasoned for my taste. I was offered another selection. The sweet tea was perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant! The best meal I’ve had in a LONG TIME!
Best barbecue I've had since, well, maybe the last time I was here. Fantastic!
Delicious food. Exactly what we were looking for. Best good I think I may have ever had.
WOW! This place is INCREDIBLE! Incredible food, beer, atmosphere and service (shoutout to Savannah for taking EXCELLENT care of us). We went to a lot of BBQ places on our last trip to Teas and Midwood in Charlotte far exceeded their BBQ. Definitely get the "Pig Out" Platter, which is more than enough to feed 2 people (get the burnt ends of Brisket too). We also got the cornbread, which was the best cornbread I've eaten in my life! Highly recommend! Will be back soon!
I came back to NC for my nephews high school graduation. My friends from Knoxville, TN came to visit as well. We went to Midwood Smokehouse, all of our first time visiting and it was really good. We looked at the menu and couldn’t figure out what we wanted due to us not being there before and never trying their sauces. We asked the waiter to bring us the sauces so we could try. Our waiter brought out the SC Mustard, Easter NC vinegar, and Cola Barbecue sauces. After we tasted the different sauces this helped us make up our minds of what we wanted. Our waiter recommend like three items but I don’t remember what the two items were. But he did recommend the Burnt Ends and this is what I ordered with Brunswick Stew and Barbecue Baked Beans. What I loved about Midwood Smokehouse is the meat was seasoned before they added the sauces. I could taste the season and the brisket was so good. I never had Brunswick Stew and it was actually good, just for me it had to many lima beans. Loved the baked beans. They were so good. My Dad had the full rack of Saint Louis Style Pork Ribs. Another friend had a half rack of ribs and my other friend had the Carolina Pork.
Visiting Charlotte, took the bus out to Plaza Midwood to try it out. Can't say it's the best BBQ I've had, but it was decent. Had the burnt ends, which somehow actually tasted better leftover the next day. Should have gotten the chopped pork - maybe next time.
This is a franchise restaurant, and this downtown location is the best. This is a smoke meat although it's called BBQ, it's not grilled as BBQ known to the majority of people. Prices are very reasonable. Tasty food. C U Around
First visit here and the food was pretty good. The smoked wings were tasty but a bit cooled unfortunately. The Mac n cheese was ok but again just warm when given to us. It's like they were busy and it was just sitting. I actually sent it back and had the jalapeño poppers instead. Our platter however was delicious. The Brisket was tender and moist. I gave this place 4 stars based on the Brisket and our wonderful server. I would possibly visit again but there are other BBQ places I would visit first.
I came down to Charlotte with every intention of eating barbecue, and Midwood Smokehouse did not disappoint. It was my first time ever visiting and I absolutely loved it. Great food, reasonably priced, and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend getting the big share platter. It was more than enough for four people and we got a selection of everything. And don't forget to get the jalapeno cornbread skillet. Amazing!
Enjoyed the meal tremendously. Our waitress, who was training a new employee, was superb. She was on top of every need. I would definitely recommend giving Midwood a try. The Burnt Ends were delicious. Probably the best Ive had at any smokehouse.
