Food is good but HORRIBLE customer service. a lady had her fingers in the food barely filled the box and want to charge 18Dollar's it's usually 12 to 15 dollars. I went to the soul food spot besides it whole diff vibe
This was my first time eating Dominican food and I was VERY impressed! I had no idea that there was such a thing as Halal Latin food. I didn't have to worry about the greens being flavored with bacon grease! ☺️ The food was delicious. The meats were seasoned well and stewed to perfection. I would give 10 stars if I could.
OMGosh absolutely delicious! This was my first time here. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture before I smashed it. I ordered the stew chicken, mac n cheese, rice n beans, and cabbage. Hubby had the turkey wing dinner with collards, yams, and Mac n cheese. They give you so much, totally worth the price. Restaurant was clean, only a couple of tables inside. Service was good, the 2 ladies were helpful with descriptions and suggestions. NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS!!
Save your money, time and probably your health too and just don’t…visited for the first time and last time yesterday. The Mac and cheese was salty and the stew chicken was undercooked and cold! The cabbage was greasy. All of the grease and salt did it for me and not in a good way. The portion was big but what does that matter when you can’t enjoy the food. I should have turned around and walked out when I realized how dim the lighting was inside. Not a good sign for an establishment selling food to the public. How can you see what your cooking/ serving. Nothing about the food tasted “clean”. I wish I could get my $15 back but I’ll chalk it up and just stay away. I do not recommend!

The food puts the soul into soulfood. The meats are tender and delicious! When I tell you Everything Is good, trust me. I've been here for many years and just discovered this restaurant. If you from Uptop [Northeast] their Chicken and Phillys are off the chain!! The ladies are always pleasant and they're taking Covid-19 precautions.
In person they're on point. But ordering over a app... You are going to get a mixed bagged. I'm particular about my rice. So its disappointing I don't get the rice i expect ?. As a regular customer. I enjoy the food so I'm not about to give them a one star because the food is good. Recommend going there in person.Ordering over the Grub Hub and Uber app, even if you put in a note is just a repeated let down experience (GH screenshot but had the exp with both apps). You might not get what you expect. No contact to let UK "hey we don't have this menu item is ok we replace it with xyz" for stuff like rice it's not the end of the world but everyone is different. Also for other orders I wouldnt want the same experience.
This is truly unfortunate...being this place has REALLY tasty food. Firstly, there is a sign posted on the door that reads something to the effect of 'No Mask, No Entry', as expected, being it is mandated by Mecklenburg County. However, my food server DID NOT wear a face mask, gloves or neither a hair net while serving hot foods from the open air style food bar. And got a lightweight attitude when asked to please put on gloves!!!Secondly, this particular food server, she looks to be in her mid to late 50's in age. I witnessed her collect and bunch up fallen rice from the counter and between the various other pans on the bar with her bare fingers and simply sprinkle it back into the large rice serving pan. Thank goodness, I do not eat rice!What is more unsettling, she appears to be either the owner or someone close to the owner.I understand now why the restaurant have a (90.5) health inspection score.
