Just had lunch at their food truck spot Uptown, I had the jerk chicken plate with cabbage. Everything was prepared just right. I prefer mine spicier but no complaints. I'll be back.
I really wanted to like these folks because they were so super nice and I give them 5+ stars for their customer service and friendly attitude. The food just didn't do it for me though.I had jerk chicken with rice and peas and garlic green beans; beef patty and coco bread. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked properly but didn't have any gravy. I've never had jerk chicken from a Jamaican restaurant without the gravy/sauce. The rice and peas were more like the style that comes in a box that you have at home. Not terrible, but just not restaurant level at all. Most disappointing of all, the beef patty wasn't freshly made. Much to my dismay I discovered that the patty I ordered came from a box (I saw the box in the back of the prep area as I waited for my order. Pic attached). I've bought the same ones before from Costco/Sam's Club. Again, not bad but didn't have the flaky crust as the ones that I am accustomed to having in a Jamaican restaurant. The coco bread was warm and fresh. The entrée portion was small compared to what I have received from other Jamaican restaurants.Again, I want to be kind because these folks did give the type of friendliness and customer service that is rare these days but I can't recommend the food.
I discovered Marlie's big blue truck about 6 week shy of my wedding and was desperately looking for a caterer. Not only did she help calm my panic down assuring me we had enough time to get what was needed, she was super responsive and took the time to answer my umpteenth amount of questions. For wedding day we rented the heating equipment from Marlie; she delivered and completely set up the buffet spread beautiful and in a way that made the line flow seamlessly. Now the food... Being of Caribbean descent we were adamant about ensuring the food was as authentic tasting as one of our family members cooking, Marlie knocked it out the park! IT WAS THE MOST DELICIOUS, WELL SEASONED, FALLING OFF THE BONE, MADE WITH LOVE spread we could have asked for. Hands down the best Jamaican food in CLT, I would recommend Marlie to bring the flavors to every and all occasions. You will not be disappointed!!!!

The food from MarlieQs is always on point. The oxtails over rice & beans and plantains were amazingly delicious with generous portions!!! I try my best to visit this food truck (Five star restaurant on wheels) on location(s) which are listed on their web site. It’s well worth the trip!!!

MarlieQs catered our thanksgiving dinner. The Mac and cheese, jerk chicken and cabbage was so delicious. We will using them again for family get togethers from now on.
I ordered catering from MarlieQs for my Halloween Pajama Party and it was a hit. The ordering process was easy as I ordered everything online. The manager was so pleasant and called to confirm my order. All my guests enjoyed the food. The highlighted dish at my event was the shrimp curry tacos with coleslaw; the shrimps were perfectly marinated in a rich cream curry sauce. However, everything was delicious. Go with MarlieQs if you want to impress your guests and fill their tummies.
MarlieQs catered our friendsgiving dinner party. The curry shrimp tacos, curry chicken,jerk chicken, jerk chicken sliders, green beans, cabbage, red beans and rice, and mac and cheese were all exceptionally delicious! We were beyond pleased with the mouth watering flavor and freshness of each of these dishes. MarlieQs provided excellent customer service as well. We highly recommend MarlieQs! We will definitely be using them again in the future.
