The best Caribbean food in the South
They are always very friendly.The portions are always generous.I have walked several blocks in the rain just to get the oxtails and jerk chicken.If you need comfort food to get you in the right frame of mind, this is the place.
A friend brought me here last night. The atmosphere is such a vibe. So relaxed and a place you could definitely come for good food, drinks and music. Had curry chicken, greens, yams and peas and rice. You definitely get your money’s worth. Had to take home and still have a lot. Everyone there was so nice. Don’t forget to try Rum Punch…my new favorite drink.
I had it for lunch and got told the jerk chicken wasn’t a lunch special but he would “make an exception” the rice was nasty and the chicken was dry as if it had been sitting out. The cabbage was ok. But it definitely isn’t anywhere I’ll be going back to. Also I was charged $2.50 for a can of soda crazy.
Never again. My friend Lika and I had a terrible experience. The food was good, that is it, except for the mac n cheese. Tasted like a novice made it. The service was bad. We were the only customers in there at the time. Vinroy Reid was there. He's running for office to my understanding. He was nice to us. But those ladies. Awful. The girl taking our order was damn near illiterate. No matter how many times we said our orders, she couldn't get it right. Lika and I asked for cups of water several times and no one gave it to us, but one of the ladies was trying to sell us some type of punch they had. And they told us much later on that they only offered bottled water. The communication there is horrendous. Then we were leaving and needed to pay. We could've walked out of there without paying if we wanted to because they were so inattentive. But we're honest people so Lika and I weren't gonna do that. By this time Vinroy was talking to another table. All 3 ladies in the back were servicing ONE customer so no one was available to take our payment. Finally we were able to pay but they attempted to overcharge Lika. I had asked for a plastic bag several times and never got one until Lika had to forcefully ask them and they finally gave it. Their point-of-sale took Lika's credit card but wouldn't take mine. I gave two cards to try and neither worked. My cards are legit, I have money and my cards worked earlier. So they asked for cash. I mean it wasn't even busy in there! And they all moved so slow and just didn't care. We won't be going back.
Went In during lunch hours and asked for the curry chicken lunch special. “Shelldon” prepared my plate of food. There was very little food in this carton. After paying $11 dollars; I feel took for my money. First and Last time coming here- just cause it’s a lunch entree’ doesn’t mean give at least food as possible.
Friendly service! Food is nasty though! I had brown stew chicken with Mac and yams. Mac was horrible, yams are ok! Brow stew wasn’t all that good. The chicken itself was tender and moist but the flavor was just not there.
I will not be ordering from this place again. They overcharged me the first time I ordered there and the second order was TWO hours late. I arrived to the restaurant about 30 minutes after my second order and it wasn't ready. I left my phone number for them to call me when the order was ready. Two hours later, I had to call and it still wasn't ready. I tried to give this place a second shot but I'm giving up on them. Never again!
