This is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte, you have to make a reservation or opp to setting at the pizza bar if they have room for you . Great atmosphere for you and someone that special to you they will cherish the experience ?? ? ??

Shanee was excellent in caring for our party of four. Personable and smiling as the restaurant became packed. Started with garlic knots and a red chili flake evoo. Had the small caprese, enough for two, fresh tomatoes off the vine flavor with large slices of mozzarella and julienned basil finished with a balsamic dressing. Main spaghetti perfectly al dente with two 4" wagyu and pork meatballs piping hot. Yum. Took half home. Worth a visit, you'll become a fan of Mama.
We found this restaurant on Google and it is BETTER than we expected. My meal was THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD!! #truestory #imafan First, our server Tara was amazing! Ask for her! Her smile is contagious and lights up the room. And she had the best suggestions. She immediately brought bread and oil to our table. The oil had the best flavor and perfect seasonings.I told her that I like a cocktail on the sweeter side, and she recommended the ROMA PALOMA• “Corzo reposado tequila, Aperol, grapefruit juice & soda. Cures bad moods.” It was delicious! Excellent recommendation.We ordered the Bruschetta. “This popular crusty bread appetizer, topped with chopped Roma tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil.”Absolutely amazing! Super yummy.I asked Tara‘s recommendation for dinner and she suggested the CHIANTI BRAISED SHORT RIB • “12-hour, slow-braised short rib over potato gnocchi, cipollini onions and local kale.”Do yourself a favor and go ahead and order this. It is the best meal I’ve ever had in my entire life time. I thought ribs had to have a bone in them, but no!! So tender, juicy, and flavorful. And then there’s gnocchi. The only gnocchi I’ve ever had came from the Olive Garden. Olive Garden wishes their gnocchi tasted like this. And the kale was amazing, I’m not always a fan of kale, but this is magic kale. And there was some kind of PERFECT sauce, I had to stop myself from licking the plate clean.My husband ordered Spaghetti with Meat Balls “Organic spaghetti with American wagyu beef and Kurabuto pork meatballs braised in Mama's tomato basil sauce.” The meatballs were light with the most delicious flavorings. It wasn’t a typical meatball. It wasn’t dense, the flavor was wonderful, well seasoned, the spaghetti sauce wasn’t your typical spaghetti sauce. It was made with forethought and care.The next time we are in Charlotte, we will be back!!! Thank you Tara, Victoria, and Mama Ricotta’s!! ❤️????
Jason our waiter, was friendly, professional, polite, fast, and a joy to talk with. We were that last table of the night, and his energy was still amazing. The food was some of the best Italian I’ve had. Fresh mozzarella was amazing, the portions are 50% too big! I didn’t eat lunch, came hungry, very hungry, and still had to take some home with me! Family portions recommended for 2-3 people…. 2-3 people and maybe the 2-3 people next door also, we got the mozzarella and tomato appetizer “family” size and it could have fed 5 people easily, it was the some of the best I’ve ever had, don’t get me wrong, but I had to stop eating so I could even try to eat dinner. Flavors were spot on, freshness was unprecedented, and this place will now be in my all time top ten.
What a fabulous meal! I am so glad a friend insisted we get a reservation here on a recent trip to Charlotte. Our waiter was patient with a large party and gave thoughtful recommendations. Nice wine selection, delicious appetizers and entrees, and huge portions. Can’t wait to go back!
Our group went here for lunch and were able to be seated comfortably even though it was quite busy for a weekday. The bruschetta was a perfect appetizer, especially if you like garlic!
Great family Italian place! We had great service and the atmosphere was welcoming. Our favorites were the bruschetta and the Pollo Carciofi! Giving 4/5 because the Pasta primavera was decent but not my favorite and there was a long wait. The chocolate cake for dessert was huge and to die for! Excited to return here for the amazing food and service!!
Finally made it to Mama Ricotta’s! We have lived I Charlotte for 8 years and I cannot believe we have been missing out on this deliciousness!! The hostess was truly amazing and made our wait a pleasure! Jason our server was great and his recommendation for my Pasta Primavera dish was definitely appreciated!!! The children loved the pizza!! Will definitely be back!
Do not eat lunch before you go to dinner! Portions are LARGE. Spaghetti and meatballs were incredible. Wagu beef and Kubota pork make for tasty meatballs. Pasta was organic and perfectly al dente. Nutella pie for desert is not to be missed.
The food and service was excellent. I will definitely dine again. The pizza has a nice and crispy crust; the pastas were all delicious and flavorful.Dined on a Wednesday and it was packed! I recommend making a reservation for dinner.
