Me and my friend went to eat here on yesterday to celebrate my graduation and the food was amazing. The fried chicken was seasoned to perfection and crispy and I loved the collards. I also got some rice that had some chicken broth in it which was so good. Besides the food the vibe was chill and they played some good music. The service was excellent and the cook came around and asked how the food was and did we need anything. Not to mention they are black owned, which is a plus. We will definitely be back!
First off I would like to say This was by far the Best soul food in Charlotte! I ordered the pork chop dinner and my food was finger licking good. My pork chops were fried to perfection. I got Greens and potato salad for my sides and babbby everything was scrumptious. I also got to meet the Owner Ken and she was so polite and welcoming as I was riding thru from out of town. I would highly recommend Ken Cooks if you are in the Charlotte area. Thank you

Food was absolutely delicious! Seasoning and flavors was on point. Customer service was superior! Restaurant was extremely clean bathroom also. Environment was welcoming. We loved everything about it will definitely be back.
Closed on Monday, & Tuesdays. Found this spot as it was recommended on YouTube. Inside, you order your food at the register, and you can sit down to eat. I enjoyed their side dishes. The Collard Greens, Cabbage were both done to perfection. You can't eat everyone's potatoe salad, but Ken's Cooks is very good. I recommend the Fried Salmon. The crust is crunchy. A dish I never tried before, and now it's something I will try to make at home. The Turkey Wings were a little salty, and it wasn't tender. It was okay though. Other than that, I enjoyed the food.
So one of my employees told me about this place and let me say Kens did not disappoint! Food is on 1000! Hands down reminds you of your grandma’s Sunday dinner. I order the below for dinner because I didn’t know how big the portions was. Now I ordered the Frieda salmon with cabbage and broccoli casserole and after the first bite I didn’t stop until it was gone. I was full and have to save the other plate for the next day. Great service! Amazing food and now my office has decided this is will be our ordering spot for Thursdays. You MUST check out the place!
Not only the best soul food in town, or the best home cooked in town but THE BEST EVER!!! I've never been disappointed. Everyone I recommend loves it. She fries the best croaker
Where do I begin all I can say is KEN can COOK her food is amazing. The atmosphere is all of that. Fresh and clean. Beautiful decor ?. Great customer service, they check in on you while eating to see if you're ok and if you need anything. I absolutely love her personality, she rocks. I had her baked chicken it's seasoned just right. Mac n cheese is awesome and baby them yams is everything. Really everything is good eats. Go check out ken Cooks, you won't be disappointed ?
Meatloaf extremely dry, no taste, and way too bready. Pinto Beans had no taste. Potato Salad taste like it had sugar in it. The only thing I liked about my $30+, order was the white rice and the lemonade. I will not be returning.Edit to Kens Cook Reply: Mam I have absolutely no reason to lie. I ordered exactly what I said I did. And it taste horrible exactly like I said it did. Instead of having an abrasive attitude take the feedback for what it is and do better. Why/ How would I not know what I ordered and from where? You didn't have but so many items on the menu to choose from, because you were out of most side dishes. I didn't leave the review the exact day I ordered but that's besides the point! the food indeed came from your establishment. Since you don't recall.... Maybe it was just a bad day/dish for you, but, don't discredit my experience. Receipts don't lie.....but people do... Be Blessed ! ?
Recently stopped by to have lunch with a friend and ordered 4 side Veggie plate (plus one) ?! I choose the Greens, Yams, Mac n Cheese, Cabbage and Broccoli n Cheese. Let’s just say EVERYTHING was really damn good! Seriously, I’m not a vegetarian but I wanted all sides today - that’s says everything you need it too! For me the playlist a venue chooses to play sets the vibe for the demo you feel is your target and let’s just say Ken Cooks playlist is enough reason to RSVP one of the tables and come to eat in! I was rolling my shoulders every other song and actually started singing a few of them ☺️! Last and not least, all females please take note this is a restaurant that you can stop, grab a quick bite and actually USE THE BATHROOM!! There are throws, vases, candles, disinfectant, wipes, hands frees soap pump and it smells amaaazing! It is aesthetically nice to be in and clean clean. All I could say was, ‘this is niiiccccccccce’
