Just mediocre. Planned a dinner to get together with family to meet my niece in lieu of a baby shower. It was about 12 of us. The food was nothing amazing. The whole show they put on with the grill and the big flames was nothing that hasn't been seen before. Waitstaff wasn't overly attentive or proactive. They were nice enough to cook my Sister-in-law's food in the back due to her seafood allergy. She had the chicken and steak dinner (pictured). She asked for her Steak medium. It was served well done. I had the California Coastal roll with eel sauce. It was okay. I also had the calamari. It didn't have any seasoning. Again I've had better. Service felt rushed.I wouldn't necessarily eat here again. For the prices, there are better places in the city to eat.
If I could have given it no stars I would have! My family and I have been coming here for years (birthdays and any other celebrations) and this has always been one of our favorites until today! Today we were discriminated against (we were the only African American family at our table) by one of the cooks by the name of Louie (he wears a green hat) and it definitely showed. I pulled the manager Ray to the side twice and at first he tried to say that was not the case. Apparently he must have seen that I was not lying and decided to then come over at the end and take off a “30% Employee Discount”! First and foremost; we’re not employees. Second; we’re loyal customers whom have been spending our hard earned money there for years and to only receive an employee discount was pretty much a slap in the face! WE WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN & WILL BE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD TO THE REST OF OUR FAMILY & FRIENDS!
We love the food here usually…. But the experience has just gone down hill. Literally the second before the cooks roll their carts away, the servers are waiting to throw to go boxes down in front of you. The food is literally steaming on our plates and they are already trying to get us to leave. Half of our party felt so pressured they just put the food in the to go containers. Within 5 minutes, they are pushing the check in your face and throwing mints down on the table. I understand the turn around on a busy night, but not at the expense of the customer experience. And the price we pay to eat there, we should be able to enjoy our food without feeling rushed to leave for the next table to be able to eat.
Have been here a few times over the years and recently came here the other day to enjoy a team dinner. We had to make a reservation and it was able to make it for the same night. The staff was extremely friendly the bartender I believe is new so she had a challenge making the drinks we wanted. The show was great and the food was exactly what we expected. The meat was cooked to our desired temperature as well.It is a very family environment.
Great family-friendly atmosphere, but I feel it's a bit pricey for the taste of the food. There are other Japanese steakhouses around with better food that are not that expensive.
We made reservations but it was extremely crowded and you could tell by the parking lot. Kabuto really needs to relocate or expand because parking is an absolute nightmare. There were not enough parking spots and where there were spots cars were parked over the line. The food was delicious but I don't think I'll go back because of the parking issues.
Food was fine. However I was not satisfied with the experience. We were seated at 545 and were checked out at 628. I've never been so rushed at a restaurant in my life. They didn't even give us time to finish our meals before they brought us to go boxes and the checks. And it was a Tuesday night with no one waiting. I will not return to this establishment.
Entree - New York strip hibachi, comes w/ a salad but no dressing .. appetizers - baked mussels and beef tataki .. sushi rolls - Philadelphia (bottom) and spicy salmon (top)
I have dined in and gotten takeout. Both were wonderful! Little hectic while waiting for a table but we have always had quick service and great tasting food. It had been difficult to place phone Togo orders lately, but even when I place the Togo order inside, it doesn't take very long to fulfill. We usually order the Erin sushi roll and fireball sushi rolls....verry good. We always go when we are on this side of town.
Service was poor. We were seated and order was taken before the table next to us. The chef came and was cooking on the other table and was about half way through the meal before they started cooking our food. We ran out of drinks. When they brought refills, one person asked for another refill, but his glass was not refilled. They did not come back to to check for refills for anyone. They were not on par for what I would consider good service.
