This use to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in Charlotte. I’ve been going to this particular restaurant for years and after the pandemic hit the quality of the food has gone down. The service is even bad know one smiles when there greeting you. House of leng you have GOT to do better. Walk in to buy Two egg rolls there was literally no wait which means they were already done. When I ate them they were dry and tasteless didn’t seem fresh.
This food was not good at all. This was my first time ordering. After reading the reviews I thought I would give them a chance. Coming from NYC I had high expectations for authentic Chinese food. The chicken and broccoli tasted weird. It had a burnt taste. My daughter said it tasted like burned rubber. The rice was not fresh. It’s a no for me. I won’t be ordering from here again.
Food is great but service for takeout lacks behind. Used to love coming here and would eat here almost everyday ordering takeout. After covid, takeout just went downhill. Food takes FOREVER to come. Whatever time they say on the phone, multiply that by 3 then come pickup the food. Seems like they prefer delivery service orders over all others. Account for long wait time before ordering takeout.
House of Leng was a disappointment tonight. The food appeared to be old and recooked after they added soy sauce to make it seem fresh. The noodles in the Lo Mein was dark and limp, unrecognizable. The shrimp was brown as well. The spring roll was hot but an empty shell, no vegetables. The meal was a huge disappointment and just plan terrible. I would think very hard before trying this place.
I was hesitant to try this place for the first time based off the reviews but I am so glad I gave them a try. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh and so flavorful! They were happy to accommodate my adding vegetables to my dish, with a up charge of course but that is expected.
I ordered 3 different dishes for lunch. It came out to around $30~ can't remember exactly. They do have online ordering, delivery, take out and dine in option. I never ate here before but took a chance and I'm glad I did. The food was delicious and you get a really good portion for the price. The chicken was very crunchy and meaty and everything was extremely flavorful. I will definitely be coming back again. The beef chow fun was very flavorful and was abundant. I was very happy with my takeout.
I usually order take out but I finally dined in. Very nice little spot. Staff are friendly. Service is quick. Food is always tasty.
Was better before Covid. Had chicken with Chinese vegetables today for lunch. The portion was much smaller than before (but the price was higher), and the rice was dry. My order sat on the counter while I waited, until I asked about it. Probably my last visit.
We had to wait over an hour for our pick up order. And when we inquired about our order after waiting an hour, we were repeatedly ignored. Some of the worst costumer service I’ve ever had.
This is definitely one of my favorite Asian restaurants to visit. I typically eat here at lunch. The food and service never disappoint, especially my personal favorite on the lunch menu, Chicken and Broccoli. Every time I visit a new Asian restaurant, I try to see if I can add pineapple to my dish, and it's very common to receive the answer, "No." However, House of Leng has no problem with this, and they will make it happen. Great food. Great service. Great restaurant!
