This review is only for the location at Rivergate in Charlotte, NC. The young man who was our server did an admiral job, as the menu is difficult to understand, he was patient and answered all our questions. The abeance of the facility was OK for some street corner diner, but well below par for a national franchise. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the hype I had previously read. I ordered Calamari, raw oysters, and a Cajun boil of Mussels and Dungeness crab. They do not know how to serve raw oysters, an oyster should freely slide out of it's shell, I had to fight every one to remove it from it's shell, additionally they were not fresh and were tasteless. The Calamari tasted OK, but was way too greasy to eat. The mussels were disgustingly tough and tasteless, and the Dungeness crab was mealy and way over cooked, and also tasteless. Additionally, the service was a disappointment at the level of a restaurant they claim to be plastic forks, little plastic jars of sauce, no crab cracker, and no knife to release the ill prepared oysters and mussels from their shells. This is the McDonald's of seafood, and I will not return.
Me and my co worker's order lunch here alot and we LOVEEEE this place. I also took my niece here for her 18th birthday celebration (She is a foodie LOL)! We ALL enjoyed it and we even got a chance to sit on the V.I.P room with our large party! It was priceless and of course the food was top notch! Love this spot (Seafood and my lemon pepper wings with the "hook and reel sauce "? Thank me later LOL
This was the best seafood boil I've had so far in Charlotte (and I've been to plenty). They have so many good options on the menu to go with your food. The serving size was huge and well worth the pay! Tori took care of us, she was very polite and helpful when it came to suggesting a good meal for my indecisive husband lol. I'll definitely be coming back soon!
I have dined at this restaurant a couple times now and thought I should give my thoughts.The staff are really nice and have a positive attitude and the place has an upbeat feel on the inside. I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but what I have tried has been very good, especially the house-made SAUCES.I see some of these reviews and wonder if they came to eat at the same place I did. I don’t know, I guess I can go only speak from my experience. I WILL be going back again in the future. This seafood restaurant is a welcome sight in the river gate shopping area, and I hope it stays around for a long while.
My boyfriend and I had an absolutely amazing dinner experience! We will definitely be back and RayJay was a pleasure!
Zero stars !This place is a fraud. Me and my husband came here and was served by Ryan , experience was okay but my husband and I know what’s going on , we work in the food industry. not until a week or so We we were over charged by our server RYAN. HE HAD PUT HIMSELF A 39 dollar tip instead of the 8 dollars we have given him. My husband went up there to square things up , and it seems like the owners/managers were down with it. Like we will talk to him. THAT IS FRAUD ! There’s no way to put it !I would never spend a dime in there. No my friends nor family. LETS CRAB is way better anyway ! If you think it’s a joke here’s the pictures to prove it !
Husband and I were out shopping and decided to come here for dinner. I'm so glad we did. Atmosphere was great, friendly staff, and our waitress Amanda was just super sweet. Love the fact that the potatoes are regular size unlike some other places. My husband ordered extra potatoes in his meal and couldn't eat all of them. I also love the fact that I could order broccoli and it's steamed with everything else. Delicious is all I can say. More than enough food to eat, I ended up bringing home half of mine. I typed it off with a red sangria that was super delicious. We will be back again.
The food was not very good and pretty pricey. I ordered steamed oysters and couldn’t eat 4 of them because they were so over cooked that one was actually crispy/hard (included a picture). I have never seen an oyster do that.Ambiance was nice and server was excellent. Just couldn’t eat my food.

Just had dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great (thank you Jackie!) and was more than enough food for the two of us. The food was tasty and tasted freshly prepared. Contrary to what some reviewers are concerned about as far as prices go, they are in line with other restaurants offering the same fare. We will definitely return.
