A little request to accommodate a food sensitivity turned into drama. Like mentioned by one or two other patrons, the customer service by the blonde girl was very poor.Went there today to order just a little bit of ice cream. Prior to ordering, I confirmed with the other associate that a small cup came with two scoops - and asked whether these two scoops could be split mainly due to the fact that one of the flavors was dairy-free and we didn’t want the two to mix and melt into each other. The associate agreed to do so, which I was grateful for as their sign in the front states that they will accommodate customers with food sensitivities. I ordered a small scoop of dairy free chocolate gelato while my husband got a little scoop of his pecan ice cream. Well, by the time we got to the cash register, the blonde girl noticed our request and started fussing. First she insisted that we be charged double to separate the scoops. In addition, she believed that the two little round scoops (big enough for one bite) that her associate served should be cut in half. To our astonishment, she took her absurdity to the next level by scooping out extra small scoops of ice cream to demonstrate her point ! What a waste as she would need to discard it after. Our teenagers were in disbelief by her extreme demeanor. The lack of professionalism and immaturity she displayed was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Not wanting to prolong the drama, we just paid the double charge, to which she sarcastically wished us a great day as we were leaving. My teens commented that they wouldn’t be surprised if she went to yell at her colleague for serving us two scoops of ice cream that were half an inch too big.. Glad I don’t work there.The ice cream itself was great, but people like her give the place a terrible vibe.
The gelato was awesome! But the customer service from the young Caucasian lady was very rude. I was picking out my flavor and was ready to order so moved to the cash register to pay and order and she tried to not wait on me. Then when she gave me my order and I said thank you she responded with "whatever". Bad for business she should be talked to. Great gelato bad service.
German chocolate gelato was great sweet but not overly sweet. S'mores gelato was also a favorite
Total rip off! First and foremost no where on their menu it says how much it is for kids cone! They gave me one small scoop each for 3.50 dollars! I was buying good day (two small scoops for 4.25) when I asked if they can split it in two they said yes we can do kids sizes… pricing wise it doesn’t make sense and they charge what they want to charge as no where it’s written how much it is for! Very bad service and staff.. disappointed! Ofcourse I still gave them a dollar tip and paid 8 dollars.. will never come again..
Really liked the honey lavender, pistachio is average. The problem I have with the gelato is it’s not creamy and sticky enough, the creativity is there, flavor is there but lack of texture. I was expecting the sticky Italian gelatos but it’s a bit icy…
Line was long, but two people serving. With two people serving took about 20 minutes to get my order , more than worth it though. decent portions for the price.
Shards of ice in the gelato and the Gelato consistency is off . The texture was neither smooth or creamy more like a grainy popsicle.
Obsessed is an understatement! First of all gotta love a sustainable company. They offer mason jar to go cups for shakes for just a small upcharge andddd wooden spoons. Thats just the tip of the iceberg because their gelato even better! I got honey lavender on a cone and it was pure perfection! The lavender was strong enough without making me feel like I was eating potpourri. Everyone left extremely satisfied and we all got different flavors.
Very good gelato here at Optimist Hall. Always good customer service and friendly. They have great options to choose from. Definitely a go to for me when visiting Optimist especially on a hot day.
