My wife and I like to go here for a simple meal and a cold beer. It would have been 4-5 stars but lately they are turning the music way up during dinner. Some may like it but if it keeps happening we won't be back.Update 7/8/2022: Gotta love the response from business owners that say "we are so sorry (like the one below) so please contact us so that we can discuss this further"...LOLI emailed Nicole as asked on 3/15/2022 and never received a response. Let me guess at the new response...."We are so sorry but we never received your email. Please send another so we can discuss this further"
Food was ok. Service was not great. Our waitress was too worried about getting back to the table of other employees that was sitting in the dining room instead of checking on her table. The worst was the smell of the dining room when walking in the door and the floors were filthy. We probably will not return to this location.
Popular place, we had to wait 20 min. for a party of 6. The food was good and the overall experience was excellent.
Staff was very attentive and the food was good as always. While other places are not taking to-go orders during busy hours. Hickory Tavern still answers the phone. ??
Awful portions, terrible prices, slow service and a manager that doesn’t really care. I paid for a double portion of steak on my salad and the amount of steak that cane out was smaller than the regular amount of chicken on my other salad. When I asked the manager why he said because the chicken is bigger. Well duh - but why is the chicken bigger when I paid a double portion of steak? I’m done - not coming back.
Enjoyed Brunch for Easter 2022 with the Grits, Bacon, and Egg Bowl - description is perfect: soft scrambled eggs served over North Carolina cheese grits, bacon and toast.All the flavors tied in well, it was a nice light meal. Service and atmosphere was great.
Hickory Tavern Providence was able to accommodate our large party following our wedding and reception! The manager, Paul, worked with us for several weeks prior to make sure everything ran smoothly. The service was amazing, even though they were busy and short staffed. All of the staff was so kind and accommodating. We will definitely be making this restaurant one of our frequent date night spots!
HOF San Francisco 49er Jerry rice was sitting in the next booth over. I really couldn't focus on my cuban sandwich - which was great BTW. I was too focused on the GOAT
Only about 4 tables sat and bar half full. Waited 20 minutes for chips and queso.. Had to ask for plates 3x then she brought over 2 plates (for 5 people)... Then 45 more minutes for 3 salads and wings. 2 of 3 salads were wrong. Can't imagine what it would be if the dining room was busy.
Ordered the chicken and waffles from the brunch menu, after an hour it comes out and that is literally what I was served.... A dry waffle and piece of chicken. I asked where is the sausage gravy and they say they don't have any ?♂️ Get it together people, who wants a dry waffle an chicken? No one!
