Visited on a Saturday evening. Place was very busy. Seemed like a lot of kids baseball groups celebrating. Was told it would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. Since we love the food here we decided to wait. After about 10 minutes we were told the patio was open and we could get sitted now and server would be right with us. Patio was in the shade and ceiling fans were on. Temperature was comfortable. Ordered drinks and appetizer. Received quickly. Dinner order followed at the right time. Since our server heard us talking that it was my nephews birthday. She threw in a brownie and ice cream big enough for the 3 of us.Good evening had by all.
Service was great. Server and manager checked on us several times. Wings, sweet potato fries and Brussel sprouts were excellent. Lobster roll was salty and could have used a little more Mayo buy full of lobster!
Always good service and a good crowd of customers. Nice selection of TV’s and choice of music. Some nights they have specials and/or a band. Check their website of info. If you do go on a night with a well known band, get there early cause there may be a capacity limit to get in. The tacos are amazing. Usually what I get. Can’t go wrong with their quesadilla also. I have never had one personally but friends say their burgers are great also. Give this Hickory Tavern a try sometime!
I ordered food and What a $45 disappointment it was… I gave it 2 stars because the burger had a good taste to it. I ordered pick up and I live a minute away got my food home and the food was not hot… the chicken tenders were so small they should have been. called chicken nickels and I ordered queso which for $10 the amount of dip I got was laughable but the stale chips that came with it was just ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Quality and Quantity both failed.
Service was awful. Even though it wasn't busy on a Saturday, the food took over an hour to show up. Waitress ignored our large group most of the time except after we had food.I ordered the Belgium Waffle and was greatly disappointed. For starters, it didn't come with syrup or bacon that was mentioned on the menu. When I inquired, they got me 2 overcooked slices of bacon and a cup of syrup. The waffle was absolutely disgusting. The mixture wasn't mixed all the way through, so I kept getting crunchy clumps of sugar. The split 1 strawberry between the two small waffles. $11 for this garbage.The menu is really overpriced for what you get. I will never come back to this establishment.
Our waitress, Christine was awesome!!! Her service was impeccable. She greeted us at the front desk with a smile, made sure our orders were correct and cooked to our liking, checked on us to make sure we were happy customers, and kept a positive disposition. Christine has a genuinely caring spirit and we made sure to let the manager know. The next time we visit Hickory Tavern, we hope Christine is our waitress and has been promoted because she definitely deserves it! P.S. The manager, Amanda, was amazing too! Thank you both for making our mother-daughter lunch memorable.
Though our service was amazing, the food has gone downhill fast. I've come to this location forever, have had private parties here etc. Not sure what's going on in the kitchen but none of my friends will eat here anymore. Wings are terrible. They used to be some of my favorite. Food came out very slow, despite the place being darn near empty. My niece ordered the tenders in wing sauce and they tasted frozen. Very odd. Not sure if the GM is paying attention enough to quality of service which includes the food.
My family and I went their for lunch, ok food and service was a little slow but it was busy so I understood. The problem is they added $10 more to my tip. I left a 25% tip but they just added more without my consent . Please check your receipts carefully . Management seems unconcerned even when I shared with them the discrepancy.
I come to this Hickory Tavern often and I always order the blackened shrimp tacos. Unfortunately this visit was the worst! My tacos were hard and all the toppings were falling out and looked as if they were sitting there all day. The manager Matt was nice enough to had them remade but the second ones were worse. Im not sure if they have new cooks, but this was definitely unacceptable and not appetizing in the least!
