I spent nearly $10 today for breakfast. It all went in the garbage ?. I ordered grits with a side of sausage and grabbed watermelon from the cooler. The lady who took my order asked if I wanted cheese or butter and I told her no. She asked me a second time if I wanted butter and I said no again. Despite telling her no butter twice, she still proceeds to squirt from a bottle some greasy substance she said was butter. The sausage was cold on the inside. The watermelon was supposed to be fresh, but tasted like it had been there stewing in its juices for awhile. I gave it only one star because it was the only way to add a post. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have given any stars. Halfpenny Cafe will never see another penny from me!!

I love these folks! I get two grilled chicken sandwiches when I come in - and it's phenomenal every time. They're a great business to support now that we're all coming back to work and their food will not disappoint!
The coffee was good and a good selection of teas. The egg and cheese and oatmeal was out of a box and pretty tasteless. The eggs seemed from a powered eggs, processed American cheese and a English muffin that could’ve been better toasted. My son had to add a lot to make the oatmeal tasteful. My wife said it tasted like a “just add hot water” type of oatmeal. Overall, not impressed the money we paid.

Located on the lower level of the wells fargo building, this little cafe was a good find. The coffee was a reasonable price and the service was fast. I would recommend giving this place a try!
I'm obsessed with their croissant breakfast sandwiches paired with a blood orange San Pellegrino- Customer service is A+, (always!)and food quality is superb! They also have snacks that you can take with you on your walks uptown.
