I live in Ohio, but I am from the south so I must say, I was very excited to try Haberdish. The 15-minute wait for a server to take our drink orders did not even phase me. Other than that small wait, the service was EXCELLENT through the entire meal. The good – the smoked deviled eggs are a MUST! As the daughter of a Georgia peanut farmer, I cannot say enough about the boiled peanuts! While I could not eat them, our party also raved about the shrimp and grit cakes appetizer. We enjoyed the punch bowls as well – perhaps too much! They also have some creative mocktails! The creamy cheddar grits were great and the bacon jam… mmmmmmm. The collard greens were some of the best that I’ve had. I tasted the Cast Iron NC trout – this was perhaps the BEST thing on the menu! The bad – Both the fried chicken and the mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. I ordered the dark meat chicken and it was very dry and overcooked. The mac and cheese was bland and mediocre at best. The ugly – We ordered the brown butter pound cake to go. When it we received the bag, the smell made my mouth water. Unfortunately, when I opened the container the next morning, I was stunned. Both sides were completely burnt – as in charred and blank – completely inedible. Again, service was great and some food choices were very good. I would consider going back just for the service and hope the first visit was just a one off with the food quality.

We stopped in during one of NoDa's street fairs. Unique adult beverages are available built on their on-site distilled spirits. Some parking available, outside seating and your pups are welcomed.

The beet and pickled green tomatoes and goat cheese was even better than expected

We were recommended to go here from a local person while we were visiting for a conference. We went for Sunday brunch. The fried chicken was SO GOOD! I got the chicken and waffles which was amazing. We showed up 2 minutes prior to opening and there was a decent line. We got it quickly though.

Great food, nice atmosphere

I was invited to dinner at Haberdish by a friend. Parking sucks in Noda, but we were able to find parking in a paid parking lot around the corner. We were greeted and seated immediately after walking in. We had reservations and would highly recommend doing so because they're really busy. We started out with sweet tea to drink which was pretty tasty. Also, our appetizers Smoked Deviled Eggs and Hushpuppies were quite tasty. The fish on top of the Smoked Deviled Eggs were bland but overall good. For the main course, I got the Fried Chicken Tenders with a Pearl Sugar Liège Waffle and a side of Cast Iron Cabbage. My friend got the 2-Piece Dark Chicken with a side of 2 biscuits. We both shared the Mac and Cheese topped with Chicken skins. The chicken, both tenders and bone-in, was just ok. Nothing too special. Cabbage tasted just like vinegar and bacon; I was NOT a fan. The waffle was pretty tasty, I got the honey-based syrup, but I didn't like it. The waffle was much better at home with maple syrup (which they do offer). The mac and cheese were average, but the chicken skins did enhance it a bit. The biscuits were ok too, could use some jelly (for my country folk). We shared the Brown Butter Pound Cake for dessert. It was pretty good but very dense. Overall all experience was good. Service was great and we were well taken care of. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Though it wasn't horrible, it's not a place I would go running to for dinner. If I'm in the area, it can be an option. Maybe next time I'll try brunch instead of dinner.

Great people, service and food!

Had a wonderful date with my husband there tonight. We got the fried chicken, Mac & cheese and cheesy grits. It’s been a long time since everything we got at a restaurant was so, so amazing, including the service!

Had a wonderful date with my husband there tonight. The cocktails were great…didn’t hold back on the alcohol! We got the fried chicken, Mac & cheese and cheesy grits. It’s been a long time since everything we got at a restaurant was so, so amazing, including the service!

I have been looking for an excuse to try Haberdish. My friend decided to host a birthday dinner which gave me just the reason I needed. When we arrived we were seated promptly at a high top table near the door. Our waiter was attentive throughout our time there. We received complimentary house-made cornbread with sweet tea butter. I could have easily eaten the entire plate myself but figured it would be rude.As a starter, I ordered the kale salad which was yummy. The creaminess of the goat cheese was divine! For my meal I had the Creamy Cheddar Grits (emphasis on the creamy) and the Pearl Sugar Liege Waffle that a friend ordered as an add-on to her chicken. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of the grits or the Mac and cheese (I sampled a friend's order) because of the creaminess but that was just my personal preference. The waffle was delicious and barely needed syrup. I also tastes a friend's Collard Greens which were flavorful with just the right amount of heat.I definitely plan to return and try some more things on the menu!
