Had a really great experience at The Grinning Mule in Charlotte NC. The service was fantastic. They had so many great things on the menu- was had to choose. Our drinks were amazing. I had the smoked margarita and the hunting wabbits. We had the New Orleans shrimp, the duck au poivre pasta which was fantastic, the burrata, we got the Papas bravas with bacon and cheese, the mac & cheese which was so cheesy and delicious and the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Everything tasted really good and was super fresh. Will definitely go back!
Tried Grinning Mule last night. Nashville hot chicken dip was on point. Poke tacos, bulgogi bowl (not pictured) and drinks were good but not quite great. Prices were reasonable, ambiance was casual and comfortable. Lots of options so it's a great default spot for a spontaneous date or meetup with friends. They seemed a little understaffed for a Friday night but food came out fast.
I ordered pick up and it was pretty fast, next time, I need to sit in and enjoy some yummy drinks.. I ordered the loaded chilli bowl which was VERY HEARTY and yummy, it was served with cornbread and chips. Ill say this, take away the cornbread, or fix the cornbread..it was very dry and no flavor..the chips were so yummy my daughter ate them all.
Bart and Beth (the owners) impressed me. They were extremely welcoming. First time I been there and I felt I was with family. The food was delicious, the environment was cozy, the drinks were tasty. Wait staff extremely pleasant. Not a single negative thing to say. Ordered: Chili app, garlic bread, artichoke dip. Oxtail Bowl and Prime Rib (horse radish sauce was immaculate) and Brussels sprouts were perfectly crispy. The pineapple coconut mule and song of the south were AMAZING. This will be a normal spot for me.
Getting my kicks at the grinning mule tonight. Best chili I've ever had. Delicious Nashville chicken dip. Mules were pricey, but very good. I give it 5 bottles of bourbon out of five.
The Grinning Mule is a hidden gem in Plaza Midwood. My husband and I eat here regularly and always love every drink and food item we order. Service is also great.
My husband and I went with 2 of our friends and we ordered lots of shareables, every dish was amazing — could not recommend more highly. The cocktails are creative and so so good. And the service: everyone seemed genuinely happy to be at work. They made it fun for us as guests. Go here!!
This place is amazing! Highly recommend the grilled caesar salad and tuna poke tacos - but also everything I’ve tasted has been PHENOMENAL. And the cocktails are amazing as well. I can’t wait to come back and try the french onion mac and cheese!
This place is great! The owner came up and started talking to us right away. Drinks were great. We got a free shot which was cool.Can’t wait for them to start doing brunch!
We have frequented the Grinning Mule a few times now. The service has always been impeccable, food delicious, and cocktails strong. I would definitely add this to your must try list here in Charlotte.
