Went here for my 1st time on a busy taco Tuesday night. Service was slow but the staff made up for it with friendliness and customer service. Great atmosphere, fun games and activities on site. Definitely recommend! Food and drinks were sooo good. All in all enjoyed myself.
Well... Not mexican per se but I will give them 5 starts. Awesome environment, family friendly which is a most with a pre-teen and good drinks. Coming back place when in Charlotte
I loved the environment. It is inviting and staff friendly. It was my first time and I enjoyed so much. Not a $15 margarita but I will back again when Im in Charlotte.
Food was delicious. The salsa tasted authentic with a touch of spice. I ordered the Torta and the sauce to dip it in made the meal! Blood orange margarita was delicious and a great balance of sweet and salty. The slushie version of El Thrifty Margarita was full of lime and tartness to balance out the cold

I went to El Thrifty for sip and play night on Wednesdays and it was so fun, our server Carson was amazing. Jake the manager stopped by and made me feel so at home here making sure our ever need was met and my Bartender Selina made the best cocktails! A must go-to whether you're in town or just needing a night out like myself!

El Thrifty lives up to its name. Because it's el thrifty, alright. Never been to the place, but after ordering the food through DoorDash, I can say that this is a hard pass for what you're paying. Had hopes and dreams of a nice evening of Mexican food at home, but once I opened the bag I was disappointed. $5 for a baby taco with a smidgeon of meat. $10 for a taco salad using iceberg lettuce and skimped on the cheese. Portions are a 1/5 and taste is a 2/5. I'm sure the place is nice, and the food taste great after a one or two too many margaritas on a day or night out. But if you're at home and wanting your Mexican cravings fulfilled go elsewhere.
