My wife and I were looking for an artisanal loaf of bread, and stumbled upon Copain in our search for a delectable provisions. We found a delightful boutique establishment slightly off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trip. We found a beautiful, hefty and tasty loaf(see pictures), as well as a couple sweet treats(scone and pain chocolate). The bread was dense in the most positive way, moist, and full of flavor with a slightly sour tastebud tantalizing flavor. A little on the expensive side, but worth it for a nice treat. The cinnamon scone was pretty good as well, mild in flavor with a simple essence of cinnamon(would pair perfect with coffee). The Pain Chocolate was not my favorite, too airy without enough chocolate, but that's just my preference and would deter me from returning for other items. They also serve coffee and sell various other items, from gelato to cheese bars to take home eggplant parmesan.
Very disappointed about customer service. I tried to place an order and even I was willing to wait wherever time they need it to make my order, they were no cooperative unwilling to satisfy my needs. Lost a customer.
I pre-ordered and was not sure what to expect because I had never even heard of this business before reading QC magazine. I ordered an array of food for Christmas Eve and Christmas breakfast and was pleasantly surprised how wonderful everything tasted. Highly recommend if you are having an event and don't want to be bothered with all of the cooking yourself.
The coconut cake has great flavor but was not constructed well and lacked enough icing to hold layers together. As a tall narrow circular cake it tipped over and layers separated the minute you cut into it and made for a sloppy presentation on plates. It's not a very big cake & at $40 I expect more. The baguettes are the best and most authentic in town, as is the small dry salami but be prepared to pay hefty for the tiny salami. Service when picking up items is always slow. Either cashiers talk amongst themselves and don't notice customer standing there 2 ft away or items are not ready at pickup times even with extra 45 min cushion they were still preparing.
Barely anything selection wise to buy, not much of anything and didn’t look appealing what was just sitting left there. Management/service doesn’t seem eager to help or knowledgeable. I walked in and girl just sat chin leaning on hand/smiled kind of, barely offered help. Just sat the entire time and didn’t even say anything. I was also left on hold for a long time when calling and very poor communication-rude once back on with me from management
Nice little spot! I had the chocolate almond croissant, which was delicious. I also had a vanilla latte, which was good but not the best that I’ve had. Staff was very friendly and ready to help. I wish they had the option to warm up your pastry, but otherwise a very pleasant place. They had a nice assortment of other items including jams and jellies, breads, chocolate, and some cold meats and cheeses, as well as bottled drinks. Definitely worth checking out!
Another local shop saves the day! We stopped in during our trip to eat at Roosters. The Coffee is a must buy, so delicious. Purchased sour dough bread as well, it went fast at home. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable which was wonderful. Thank you!
Don't live near this store, wish I did!Great little joint with good quality specialty items. Friendly staff and the prices are good considering the high quality of the items sold.
We ordered our Thanksgiving meal from Copain and could not have been more thrilled. The turkey was outstanding and so were all of the sides. Truly restaurant quality, which we were hoping for based on the splurge price. Worth every single penny and we can't wait to supplement some of our Christmas dinner with Copain's magic:)A note on portion size. We ordered everything to serve 4-6 and it was right on the money, so if you like to have leftovers I'd recommend "sizing up."
I purchased several breakfast breads to share with friends & family over Christmas & they were a huge it! The banana & pecan is outstanding! In addition, they wrapped each one individually with a bag & tissue to make gifting even easier!
