This is my third time cominh here and it was jusy okay. I ordered the 4 wing dinner with yams, macaroni cheese, cornbread, and banana pudding for desert. The chicken and yams were good. The macaroni and cheese from my first look, I knew it would not be good and it wasnt. I didn't like the banana pudding. Overall, I will keep trying this restaurant. It's a soul food place near me. I'm sure it was just a bad day for mac and cheese. The last two times it was decent.
Despite gaving 95.7 score I decided to take a chance an order take out.. Sunday afternoon the place was packed every body waiting for take out. Took 30 minutes to get my food to go. I must say some of the best fried chicken, cabbage,rice and gravy I have tasted in a long time. Good customer service. With a little more TLC to the facility the score will improve. I recommend this spot if you like good soul food.
Came all the way from Birmingham Alabama for the Lakers Charlotte game and I was looking for a soul food spot found this place read enough reviews to take a trip. Ordered the smothered pork chop pinto bean rice broccoli casserole.... let's just say I'll be eating here for the rest of the weekend to try out the rest of the menu five stars for me oh and a lemonade two cup
I feel like I died and woke up in Heaven and my grandma was cooking.... food crispy and juicy.... mac and greens on point ....
Food is good but it’s always something wrong. I ordered 8 piece chicken family box. I asked “sub thighs for legs” instead I got NO legs and all thighs. This might be my last time coming here it’s always something wrong with my food. Such a disappointment. & I know they get the food wrong often because they have a sign saying check food before you leave.. or at least the used too.
A paid online order should not have the same wait time as any one walking in and your online orders need better time tracking of when the order will be complete. People place online orders these days so they don't have to be amongst the crowds and to help eliminate the traffic that accumulates in locations from traditional ordering. They're also people who are on-the-go or have a schedule they're going by. If you day 30 to 45 minutes, they're looking for that "made to order," "fresh food, not fast food" to be ready within 45 minutes, not an hour later because of your management or staffing issues.
THE BEST SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT IN NC! I’ve been coming here since I was 7 with my family now I’m 24 and the food is still THE BOMB! This place is a must try!! Every time I come here I get the smothered pork chops, which are seared in delicious, seasoned to perfection and slow cooked brown gravy with a side of broccoli and cheese casserole and cabbage, YUM!! 10/10 !!!! Go stop by !!
* I have previously had overall good experiences and had not been but a few times this year, however I ordered the fried pork chops and the Smothered pork chops, the sides picked were collard greens and yams.It took 40 mins for me to get the fried pork chops ! They were not that busy at the time I went...I FINALLY got the food and left.Once I got down the street to the gas station, I decided to separate the food to different bags and I opened my collard greens and yams...they were BOTH from a can! I can cook just about anything and recognized it right away....took them right back and exchanged for homemade sides... I will admit the pork chops and sides were delicious once I traded them out. I had never had canned sides from them before or ANY Soul food restaurant.I will call ahead next time.
I was loving this place but the last 4 times I got my usual 2 PC chicken it was very salty. I couldn't even eat it. Last Sunday my chicken was beyond eating and my greens were salty as well. I wasn't going to make a fuss but because I eat there every week I'm very upset. I even tried something different still was disappointing ughg.
Incredible food. My go-to for great home cooked soul food/southern food.
