Fantastic Thai cuisine in Charlotte! Manager Gustavo and server John went above and beyond typical expectations. I highly recommend Basil Thai - the food was amazing. We have dined at many different Thai restaurants in different towns, cities and states -our experience at Basil was the best ever.
I ate here 3 years ago and the Pad Thai was to die for. It was excellent. I was passing through Charlotte and had a taste for Pad Thai so I thought I would return here since I had such good success the first time. Honestly, it was awful and I wasted $20. It was dry, not Pad Thai noodles, the chicken was dry and bland, the shrimp was over cooked, not spicy or sweet enough. It was bad. It may have been a fluke but I doubt it. I will not ever be returning.
Had an excellent dinner at Basil Charlotte today. The Tom Yum soup and Pad Kee Mow (w/ tofu) were top notch. Desserts were great as well (fried bananas w/ coconut ice cream and mango sticky rice). Already looking forward to my next visit!
Outstanding Thai food- very good service
On Fri Feb 11th I took my son to celebrate his 18th BD both of my sons love Thai so we tried Basil. I loved the intimate setting my oldest has Aspergers so it was perfect we went early for dinner and it was not crowded. The food was AMAZING the exact words from my son when he finished with dessert The Green Tea FRIED ICE CREAM!! The service was outstanding, the manager, a handsome young man I don’t remember his name Came to our table and introduced himself was really nice and our Server don’t remember his name I’m sorry Latin Guy he had a long name that was shortened I’m sorry I’m Terrible with names however You are great with the customer service when you found out it was my son 18th BD you surprised him with the ice cream that he loved! Thanks!! Ps I left the date so you can see who worked and give them their props!! I will posts pics
Experience could not of been better! Much improved over my last visit (early pandemic). The manager, Eric, and staff were attentive, helpful and efficient. Recommended Fried Wontons, Cashew Chicken and Specialty Cocktail which were all super! Salem, at the bar, is known around town and has a well deserved reputation for crafting the perfect cocktail to compliment the experience. Really…get back to Basils Uptown!
A manager by the name of Diane is extremely rude and unprofessional and that is why I stopped going to this establishment
I went to Basil on the Saturday of Valentine weekend. I was so happy that they were able to squeeze me and my husband in and get us a table. The service was great and the manager on duty was very kind and attentive. I had the Basil martini and it was out of this world! I also had the chefs specialty crispy duck entree it was wonderful and the portion was very generous. Would definitely go again ?
We have been going here for years, and this is the best Thai food in Charlotte. The food is consistently good and tastes the same each time, unlike other Thai restaurants in the area. I love that the Pad Thai comes with both chicken and shrimp without costing extra.
Food was amazing! My husband loved the red curry and I really enjoyed my Pad Thai. The service was phenomenal end the atmosphere was too.
