I love this cozy “uptown” restaurant. Feels like Cheers every time I walk in. Friendly staff, amazing food, and not “uptown” prices. And one of the few places in CLT that serve a hot roasted open turkey sandwich with gravy!! Mmmmmmmmm…. So delicious! I’ve NEVER been disappointed here. Great drinks too!!
Always a delight to be here.We ordered What it is, Black bean burger and for the first time dessert - Blueberry Lemon cheesecake. The burger wasn’t as I expected but that’s fine we tried something new.What it is is my all time favorite dish to order. This time ordered extra sauce yummm.Blueberry Lemon cheesecake was amazing. Perfect balance of flavors for us. Don’t think twice just order it!
Best pasta in Charlotte? I really happy with ** What It Is *Blackened chicken breast over fresh rotini in a Cajun cream sauce. Served with parmesan on the sideDefinitely recommended

Nice local joint. Staff was very friendly and food came quickly. Lots of character inside. Looks like a relaxed place to grab a beer, but we went for lunch.
Location, atmosphere, staff and historical legacy of this place are nice. Food is mediocre. I would never eat there again. Nice place to have few beers though
We showed up from out of town and called a few places. The gentleman answering the phone was so nice. We showed up with 9 people and after a short wait (an many check ins with the gentleman once there), were accommodated with a great table and an amazing server. Everyone involved in our visit was so lovely, informative, and attentive. They made our trip so worth it. Highly highly recommend.
