Love the chili dogs here, and the fries and fried pickles are both awesome. Also really affordable. Great lunch choice!
My girl and I were in Chapel Hill looking at houses for sale. We found this place by chance just walking up and down Franklin St, and we are so glad we did! Burgers, hotdogs, and fries sounded like an excellent meal. I ordered a double burger with fries, and she ordered a chili-cheese hotdog with fries. The burger was cooked beautifully (they asked how I wanted it!) and was so juicy. I tried the CC hotdog, and it was also excellent. An unexpected plus? Perfectly blended CHEERWINE! My best compliment comes in the form of the perfectly cooked fries. As Peter Griffin would say, "DING! Fries are done!" They were spot on in terms of texture, temperature, and flavor. The staff was friendly, and made sure my food was cooked correctly and tasted great.I am not a finicky or biased food reviewer, just a dude that likes good food. I would highly recommend Trolly Stop for a terrific meal!

Today I dropped my husband off at the hospital for a neurological diagnosis and wasn’t allowed admittance due to the current pandemic regulations. I found myself wandering and waiting outside for hours with my 5 year old. My phone eventually died and I was lost in a town I hadn’t been to before when I asked the guys at Trolly Stop if I could possibly charge my phone. They charged my phone behind the register, allowed my daughter to use the bathroom, and gave us water. I can’t thank these guys enough, especially in a time of such skepticism and division. Thank you for your kindness.
I ordered two dogs, the American and the Mexican. I wanted potato salad but they were out so I ordered fried pickles. The American was chili, cheese, mustard, onions. The dog was warm and had a firm bite to it and it was longer than the bun. The chili had a good flavor. The Mexican had a sweet salsa on it which detracted from the overall dog experience (for me), but it was still good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. If you are in Chapel Hill you need to check them out.
Best burger and fries I've had in a LONG time. The service was great, food came out fast with no problems and the meat was fresh and juicy! Sooooooo good!

Best grilled cheese on Franklin St! Had the best experience here today with our 2 year old twins - went for Maple View Farm ice cream and ended up also ordering a wonderful grilled cheese on wheat. Eric and Jeff went out of their way for us and our energetic kids. First time there and will be back! Feel compelled to review because of how nice they were, thanks guys
