Love the food! Price is excellent for the portions of food you get.
I'm originally from Chicago, currently residing in Durham, NC, so I know good fried chicken, my mom's, mine lol, Harold's Chicken 87th off the Dan Ryan, but when I tell you Time out has thee best Fried Chicken, collard greens, candid yams, corn bread, potato salad, cole slaw, Mac and cheese, pecan pie, chocolate chip cookies and that Fountain lemon aid ? and yes I drive to Chapel Hill maybe once a week just for Time Out.
Stopped here for dinner with my son. I had the Country Fried Chicken Dinner (white), with fried okra, potato salad, and corn bread. Jr opted for the fried trout with same sides. We did not leave hungry nor unsatisfied. Great eats! And, the potatoes in the salad were thoroughly cooked. I hate crunchy potatoes in salad. There are lots of other options and sides, and pecan pie for dessert. The sign says “always open.”

Great food, fried chicken, taters, and sandwiches. I highly recommend the cheddar burger. They give you good size portions and haven't ever encountered a wait in the restaurant I've also placed online orders and they were ready in the timeframe promised.

Had a BBQ Chicken plate catered from them. Good potions. Needed a pinch of salt. Great biscuits.
Amazing southern food. The best cornbread on earth. The citrus vibe to the sweet potato pie was phenomenal. Burgers HUGE and fresh. Mac n cheese like grandma used to make!
This place never disappoints us. We don't get to Chapel Hill as often as I'd like but we always stop at Time Out. The chicken and cheddar biscuit is legendary and rightfully so. Eddie and the folks here are always nice and they take pride in their food. Eddie is a good guy to talk to also. Thank you Time Out.
