Fatherâs Day was very busy and there was a staff shortage, but the servers stayed calm and did their best..the food was excellent. We had a very pleasant evening.
A world away in the heart of Chapel Hill, Talullaâs recreates the flavors of the Mediterranean with their simple but elegant cuisine. Deliciously blended spices complement traditional dishes with a culinary experience akin to dining in the finest restaurants of Istanbul. Fresh bread with spicy tomato-pepper sauce comes with every meal. Choose entrees like freshly grilled branzini (sea bass) with lemon and olive oil and Iskender, marinated lamb on a bed of toasted croutons in a spicy yogurt-tomato sauce. Top off with yummy desserts like mini chocolate mousse or Turkish flan and your meal will be one youâll want to repeat again.
What a treasure for us to have such an amazing restaurant so nearby! I would imagine that the only way to get more delicious and more authentic Turkish cuisine would be to find a restaurant in Ankara or Istanbul. Even then it'll just be AS authentic and AS delicious. You can tell that this family-owned restaurant takes pride in its purpose and uses genuine spices from Turkey. My wife, my son, and myself all ordered different appetizers, different entrees, and desserts just so we could experience as much of the menu as possible. In the end, no one could decide who had made the most delicious choices...IT WAS ALL SO GOOD!! The waitstaff is welcoming, warm, and friendly. Canan especially took the time to make my family's dining experience so enjoyable that we felt like we had to return as well as book a flight to Turkey ASAP. Don't be intimidated by the menu if it seems unfamiliar. Experiment outside your comfort zone. You can't go wrong, every thing is delicious. You'll be glad you did.

I took my wife to Tallula's for our anniversary. Tallula's has been a special place for us as it is where we went after our wedding years back. The food and service was fantastic, as always, with personal attention that made the visit even more special. They had a vase of flowers for my wife; a personal touch. I asked for the staff to pick our appetizers, a good Turkish wine, main courses, and even the dessert. All were excellent and complemented each other with an array of flavors and spices. If you want to be in Turkey without flying...try Tallula's.
