Very nice atmosphere. Not pretentious and southern vibe. If you get the right stuff it can be cheap. But everything's good
Bartender was friendly and welcoming. She knew the menu well and made good suggestions . Food arrived quickly and was delightfully tasty. Not too spendy, well worth the money. Looking forward to the next visit?
Excellent food and drinks. Service was attentive without being too intrusive. Lovely interior and dining area. It has been a long time since my last visit but we were happy that it had only improved in that time.
Fantastic food and service
Amazing service, reasonably priced, relaxed atmosphere.... Food was prepared fantastically.. lots of flavor.
Average seafood. Been successful for so long serving octogenarians tepid boring dishes they’ve lost their way. Locals will tell you it a CH staple and to go there but it’s just because there’s no other place around. Decor Screams 1989. Sorry Mickey but your oldest place sucks.
Been coming here for over 20 years, it was an amazing experience as a kid and still a great experience coming here with my wife and kids. Love the atmosphere and fresh seafood!
Oysters lightly steamed, steamed perfect! Peel and eat shrimp, excellent with an amazing spinach salad.. and a bottle of wine.. all very fresh in a warm atmosphere with awesome, experienced servers! You can't go young with Squids! Cheers!??
Note to self:If you return to Squids I want you to remember your visit on Feb 7 2022.You had the Special :Chicken ( waiter said breast ) Farro and spinach with roasted tomato gravy .Flavor was okay but 1/3 of chicken was a wing . The chicken was very dry ( over cooked ). $18Wife had a bacon spinach salad . The bacon was crumbles , the dressing was like a tasteless watery wetness . No flavor . Bacon did not adhere to the spinach so it remained in the plate . $6Flounder plater was a single piece small quantity of fried flounder . $27 Previously ,before covid , the quantity was 2.5 times as much flounder . Two or three long pieces . This was a perhaps 2” x 3.5” rectangular chunk rather than long filleted strips. Taste okay but you can’t ruin flounder unless you burn it.Wife ordered a lemon pound cake . Awful! It crumbled when she attempted to get a fork load . She ate one bite and had it boxed up . I tried it later at home . It was like stall hardened bread . With an almost rancid taste . Trashed it . Wish I had tasted it at the restaurant. I would have insisted on the manager tasting his “desert” . Yuck .$7
I had a party of 2. The NC Organic salt and pepper catfish and slaw was good. The sauted vegetables were bland. My sister had chicken tenders w/ fries. She said it was good but she only ate a few bites because they don't offer honey mustard or bbq dipping sauce. They had ranch and ketchup.
