Lunch for two with no dessert cost $40 plus tip. Portions were rather small and the "yeast roll" was pulled from a package bought at Food Lion. The turnip greens and squash casserole were tasty, just scant portion sizes. Fried chicken was moist and cooked well, but bland. Our server was friendly and efficient.Had high hopes for lunch after hearing so much about this place, but was disappointed. Won't be going back.

Service was amazing. Super friendly. Expected more flavor. Saw all the ratings inside so I was expecting the best. Mash potatoes was meh, corn wasn't sweet

We had a wonderful lunch at Mama Dip’s restaurant. The fried chicken was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The macaroni and cheese was delicious, as were the yams, rice and gravy, and green beans. The chicken pastry was excellent. Save room for the chocolate peanut butter pie!Our server was a delight and very attentive.

I would give 3.5 stars so I’m rounding up to 4.Pros: food overall tasted good. Service was exceptional! Our server was attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is lovely and has a nice vibe. We ate inside but the outdoor dining looked beautiful. The strawberry shortcake was stellar.Cons: the main con is the price vs what you get. My partner and I both got the chicken fried steak. Comes with two sides and choice of bread. Meals were about $15 each so for that price I was definitely expecting more in either quality or quantity. While quality was good, it wasn’t the caliber of $15 for that amount of food.Ultimately I would recommend this place because of its location, easy parking, good vibe, and generally good food. Don’t expect anything amazing, but it wasn’t a disappointment.

Me and my girlfriend decided to give Mama Dips a try. I was very pleased with how pleasant and friendly our waitress was and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. I tried the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese, coleslaw. The food was very flavorful, the chicken was prepared extremely well. Although I thought needed a little extra seasoning. Overall great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food; the Waitstaff was hospitable, BUT the manager/part-Owner (Sunday 12-2pm) was short and rude! threw our check and said Ba-Bye! As it was our first time to the restaurant (recommended by friends), we were excited to look over the menu and find many southern classics. The Waitress was pleasant and accommodating. We ordered as the lunch hour became busier. We waited yet were patient and expectant. Our food was delicious and varied (dumplings, chicken, ribs, and a pulled pork BBQ sandwich with delicious veggies on the side). We asked for a dessert menu and ordered a cream cheese pound cake a la mode. My daughter was still thinking over her dessert choice and made her decision some minutes later though the waitress seemed to be busy and burdened with many other tables. So, my daughter walked over to the waitress and asked her for a chocolate cake. As she was busy, the manager (Cece) came over and said she could take the order. Upon return to the table, she threw the bill on the table, plopped the cake on the side, and said directly to wife's ear (within 12 inches), Ba-bye!! My wife and I looked at each other in shock and my wife asked me, did I see and hear what just happened!? I affirmed as I was sitting on the other side of the table and saw how close she was & that indeed the Manager had just tossed the items on the table and said curtly: Bah-Bye!! So, we just sat there for a minute and then my wife went to speak with the manager to see what the problem was. The manager rebuffed the fact that she had just been extremely short with us and said she had just wished us a nice day. When my wife pushed back, Ms. Cece ignored her, walked away, turned to some new guests who had just arrived and started talking about the situation stated that my wife didn't know what she was talking about. Blowwwwn awayyyy. We were just talking about how we wanted to bring our folks here to try the delicious cuisine and come back soon. Again, the food was amazing, the staff was doing their best & at the very end we were left with a sour taste in our mouthes and I was upset that I had to pay a $60 bill after we had been blatantly disrespected and basically told to leave by the manager. If someone from Mama Dip's would like to get in touch with me/keep a customer and rectify this situation, my email is [email protected]; I am an Educator, Elder, and community member. Thank you for taking the time to consider my words and experience at such a respected establishment. Sincerely, Mr. Troy McAdams

The first bite of collard greens brought back so many memories of my mom’s and grandmother’s New Year’s Day cooking. The collards were chopped and seasoned perfectly, and the texture was spot on. The black eyed peas and mashed potatoes were equally great tasting and seasoned. Splurged and got a slice of pound cake—with a glass of milk, dinner tonight ? If you love Southern cooking, Mama Dip’s is the place to go; be prepared for memories washing over and through you. If you want a taste of true Southern cooking, it’s definitely the place to go. Thanks to everyone at Mama Dip’s!

A true hallmark of southern cuisine. The vibes are on point, the food is delicious, and the staff are excellent. Mama Dips has your Southern cuisine fix. A great stop for food that heals the soul. I recommend the fried chicken or the Chicken fried steak.

The server was very friendly and helpful the food not so much, I hate having to write something different than the other reviews but to be honest the price versus the flavor and the freshness of the food was very lacking. We ordered four different plates and the only good one was the house salad and the chicken and dumplings. 4 plates $80+ dollars do not match the quality of the food.

My Mother had just came home with this food. By the looks, I had high expectations! The fried chicken, the macaroni and cheese, the sweet potato biscuits, it all looked amazing. The taste, was very much otherwise. The chicken was 100% BLAND. NO SEASONING, AT ALL!!! The Macaroni and cheese? BLAND! The biscuits? BLAND. The string beans had tasted as if they were OUT OF A CAN. And I’m SURE they were. I highly recommend NOT going to this place because this is NOT real soul food! This is soulless food! I pray and hope that this place can improve, and hopefully after you do, I’ll be looking to coming again.
