Had a birthday party for my husband. 11 people in all and this place did not miss a beat! All the food was high quality, fresh and delicious. We were not rushed so the food and appetizers were right on time. There were many other customers there enjoying themselves. From the Chef to the waitress were just awesome! This AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant is a hidden gem!!! I enjoyed one of the BEST Italian dishes ever!!!! I thought I was in Italy ?? I travel here for business from Tennessee every 2 months or so. If you love & appreciate GREAT Italian food, THIS is the place to come!! Their service and hospitality is phenomenal. You will NOT be disappointed! I will be be back!!?
I have great experiences from here until now. I ordered the lasagna and it was a portion fit for a 2 year old. The quality was poor and lacked flavor. If I continue to get food from here I will stick to calzones and pizza. Very disappointing!
A favorite place in the Chapel Hill area. Good choice of food, super tasty pasta, great customer service, normal prices. Their Fettuccine Alfredo is amazing. The typical crowd is mostly adults, families, and elderly couples/small groups. Few college students.
Love Magone’s!!! Their pasta, bread, sauces and pizza are always all so good.Take out tonight was Shrimp Alfredo with mushrooms. Loved it. Saving leftovers for lunch tomorrow.“Lo amo!”
This place is generally great, we have used them several times and been very happy. This last time we had a large order and one of the orders was lasagna. When we got it it, it was about a quarter of the normal portion and looked like someone had been eating off of it. Seemed we had gotten someone’s to go box in our order. We thought no big deal, we will call and they will take care of it. No apology from the staff or Manager. They told us they could not refund us initially and offered for us to get another lasagna but it was not convenient to pick it up so we just wanted a refund. The manager hung up and we had to call back to find out what the deal was. When we did, there was no apology ever and he stated that we will get our refund. I will definitely reconsider going here again, not because of the food, because of the lack of customer service upon receiving a meal that was half eaten with no apology.
We went to Magone Italian Grill for dinner on a Saturday night. There was five in our party. We were seated without a wait and the atmosphere is somewhat "strip mall" but not bad. Certainly not fancy but in keeping with the pricing on the menu. It felt like the place was optimized for a lunch crowd and/or take out but it wasn't bad at all, just not fancy.We ordered the day's special pasta, mine with shrimp my sisters with chicken. My friend had the clams over linguini and my sisters friend had a calzone.The pasta dishes were great. Fresh and very tasty. The calzone didn't disappear but there wasn't a complaint so who knows about that.We had excellent service which contributed to the overall experience in a very positive way.Definitely recommended.
If you like Italian done right this place is a hidden gem! I can’t stop thinking about what I’ll get next time but the lobster ravioli is my go to! Other places don’t compare and trust me I’ve tried. Love this place even though it’s quaint the people are nice and the quality of food beats that of bigger more flashy restaurants.
Excellent food and friendly folks. Easy order and pick up, which is all I do now. But loved their inside service years ago. Not fast food so expect a restaurant type wait. I love their marinara and rolade. The bread is yummy and fresh.
