Noticed this place after hiking at the Cedar Falls Park. I got a Turkey BLT and my mom got a chicken salad sandwich and we ate each other’s half of our sandwiches. The sandwiches were very good! Not the best i ever had good, but really tasty. The only thing i was like ehh for was the price. $30 for two sandwiches and 2 drinks is a little pricey to me, but thank God the food was good! I’ll honestly go back though. Everybody was also really friendly as well! Always a plus!
I wish I had checked the reviews before ordering at Deli Edison . The bacon on the BLT was mostly fat and undercooked. The raisin bagel was put in a brown bag without being wrapped in anything . And it was hard and stale . I give this Deli a ZERO !
Deli Edison is a welcome addition to the Chapel Hill restaurant scene. They offer delicious bagels and excellent handmade deli sandwiches. We're particular fans of the Egg Salad sandwich. The airy creaminess of the egg is balanced by savory herbs - no onion or pickle in sight. We had gotten into the habit of buying the egg salad in bulk for easy, satisfying work-from-home lunches. However, Deli Edison has not offered the egg salad for several weeks - something about missing ingredients? I have a hard time believing that as unique as this recipe is, that the ingredients cannot be sourced locally. Deli Edison, try harder and keep your regulars happy!
Highly recommend! Great bagels, sandwiches, coffee, and friendly staff. Also a super convenient location with some nice picnic tables right out front. Love it!
I’m not from the area and was looking for a good breakfast sandwich! This place is awesome! The young lady Charlotte was polite, professional and so sweet. The sandwich was delicious !
I would love this deli to succeed because they have a good product. It’s always tasty. But it is always unreasonably slow to produce from the kitchen and it is more than what you would even expect in a pandemic. I just don’t see it being around much longer with this pattern. They just need some help with their efficiency of production. We have been 4-5 times over the last year and it is always the same. I think today will be our last unless I get amnesia. Really disappointed they can’t figure this out.
This place makes extraordinary sandwiches extraordinarily slowly. Seriously, takes 45 minutes to make your order, no matter what it is. But it’s darn good every time.
Disappointed! :(Our first time trying Deli Edison out and had such high hopes. We did a pretty basic (chicken biscuit and everything bagel w/ cc) online order around 11am on Sunday morning. When we arrived, we found out they were out of biscuits (to their defense, they had called to tell us, but we had not see VM). OK, pivot - we'll take that on a hard roll this time. When we returned home .......bummer, no everything bagel - but instead a plain bagel, UGH! Unfortunately, very simple order went all south for us. :(
Deli edison is pretty good. I usually get the turkey BLT. I think the best move in ordering is to go in person, once or twice my online order has been misplaced. Also sometimes the amount of turkey and bacon on the sandwhich varies wildly. Last time there was an alarming amount of bacon so the bottom slice of bread was just grease... not great. But they are usually tasty and there isn't another place for bagels on this side of town. Eating in the courtyard is nice if the weather is good.
Great little place! We had the bagels and they had a great texture and very fresh. Also tried a bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit it was amazing! So much bacon and this biscuit was huge!
