This used to be my favorite Chinese Restaurant, and I ordered take out at least once a week. On Friday, I ordered Egg Foo Young. It was burned and not edible. I went back on Sunday to order a couple of appetizers. I let the young lady taking my order know that the food that I had ordered several days prior had been burned. She became very nasty. Called me a liar and told me than I didn't know what I was talking about. I asked her to cancel my current order, and to refund my money. Very rude and unprofessional. China Wok has lost a long time regular customer.
I ordered sesame chicken but I couldn't eat it because the chicken was fried way to long I guess. I couldn't chew it. I also ordered wings which were fried way too long almost burned. I could only eat the plain lo-mein but the sesame chicken and wings got thrown away. I wasted my money tonight. Guess it was just a bad night.
Spent $55 at China Wok tonight and am very disappointed. Barbecued chicken skewers were so chewy and dry that they were not edible. Noodles for soup were store bought. The beef and broccoli was chewy too. Called to complain and they refused to do anything. I’ve eaten there for years but will not go back. They were rude to my husband on the phone when he called. I’d told him how good it was and now I’m embarrassed. There are so many better places to choose from in chapel hill and Durham for Chinese food.
I was overcharged for a meal. What makes this interesting is when I was placing my order I heard one of the employees arguing with someone on the phone stating that they didn’t overcharge them. Do not use ur card. I don’t know if it’s intentional or unintentional but it happened!
Food is very good but if you watch them they have really poor hand hygiene I mean it’s terrible, I watched a man put a few noodles in my container with no gloves the lady Opened the bag for egg roll with her hands after just dealing with money and even touched my crab raggoon, I’m not gonna lie I’m gonna pray over my food and still eat it but because I’m nervous about stuff like this I won’t be eating here again ….the food is great though ???♀️??♀️
The place is nice. They have pretty good food and a wide selection. I have tried about 12 difficult dishes and I likes them all. Also, I really love their chicken or shrimp fried rice.
Great take on amercian chinese food. Very savory, wonton soup was one of the best. Egg rolls were perfect. Very nice people.

I’ve eaten here several times before in the past. But tonight I ordered a Lo mein combination and some beef & broccoli and 4 egg rolls. I sat down at home to eat my lo mein and it had two long pieces of hair cooked into the noodles. I’ve never been so disgusted in my life.so be cautious when eating your food from china wok Chapel Hill.
Food was VERY expensive for your basic Chinese Food. Definitely not worth spending your money there.
