Sunday very busy but the line moves quickly. I would suggest one person look for a table while the other person is ordering. It’s first come first serve. The coffee is one of the best coffees I’ve had in a very very long time. The granola bowl was delicious with the pecans.Shout out to Maren who took my order and personally delivered my coffee. Keep doing what you’re doing, you will be very successful in life. I would definitely recommend this place.
Enjoyed a very delicious breakfast made just the way I ordered it and a tasty latte. Highly recommend this place - not just a coffee shop, they have a full menu including breakfast, burgers and steak.
When arriving at the establishment we were greeted and taking to a booth. My mother who has knee and back issues went to sit down and the booth gave way and she fell to the floor. No one rushed to help her up and they admitted that a customer had just complained about the boot seat leaning down. Luckily my mother wasn’t injured. The food was sub par with little to no flavor. To top it all off all they did was comp our 2 coffees for this whole experience. I have been in food service too long to even remotely think that is how you would handle the situation. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER
I am a regular at this restaurant and each time it is a positive experience. The food is always great and there is something for everyone on the menu. I have tried and recommend the chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits. All of the staff are very kind and consistently check in on customers to make sure they are still doing well and have full drinks. My servers have always been happy to quickly bring out things we need like more drinks or sides. I have had Ryan V and Marie G as my servers recently and I have nothing but compliments. The wait times are very reasonable, of course it takes a little bit longer to be seated and get food or drinks when it is really busy but that is understandable. I love the cozy, warm, and friendly atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the outside seating right on Franklin Street is great as well and perfect for if you have pets.1922 next door (also a part of CCS) also has good vibes and great service and I am looking forward to going there more for coffee as well once it reopens!
Carolina Coffee Shop on Franklin is a great stop. They had our food prepared and served in lead than 10 minutes after we sat down. Coffee is excellent and various. The food menu is also extensive with breakfast brunch and lunch options. Inside the shop is a little crowded when we went in but there was plenty of outdoor seating available however, even though it was busy we had a very little wait. The servers were very nice and came to check up frequently and maintain a positive status. Very nice breakfast for bringing family in town visiting.
My daughter, who is a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill, went here to do some work before heading to her next class and was denied service. People were sat before her who came in after her and then she was told it was a lot of reservations and she can sit at the bar if she wanted to stay.
Coffee is pretty good, food isn’t. Hash browns and sausage went from the freezer to the microwave to my plate. Bacon was half cooked but tasted ok. Get your coffee here and your food somewhere else.
Great dinner format with nice breakfast menu and very friendly service. Had the eggs Benedict which was unique in that it shaved prosciutto included and a tasty sauce (picture below). All the plates were very reasonably priced. Great place to check out.
I like the idea of a cozy classic breakfast nook, but wooboy it was chilly in here. The atmosphere was nice other than that. Food was good and our server, Ozzy, was kind and helpful.
Insane wait times on Sunday so always be mindful about what time you go. My food has always been great! I def recommend their hot chocolate it’s HUGE and very filling - best way to warm up on a cold day :)
