I went to Blue’s to watch a basketball game with some friends. It was clearly a busy night, but no one came to our table to take orders. After waiting quite a while, someone in our group got up to find some staff to inquire about ordering (were they taking food orders, could we order from the table, etc.) But when she tried to ask someone, the owner screamed at her and berated her just for asking questions. Truly bizarre and utterly unacceptable behavior. I can’t comment on the food because we were never able to order any, but no food could be good enough justify patronizing this man’s establishment.
I had catering set up elsewhere for my Monday event and unfortunately they said they were unable to on Saturday. I called Blue's and they said it would be no problem at all! They were so easy to work with and they really turned my day right back around. Not to mention....THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!
We had so much fun watching the UNC Final Four game at Blues on Franklin that we decided to reserve spots to watch the national championship game there as well! The atmosphere was great with lots of TVs and good music. The outside area was a great hangout spot too. The staff was hardworking and friendly! We will definitely be back to enjoy more burnt tips and nachos!
Came in from out of town to see the planetarium and wanted some BBQ for lunch. This place was AMAZING!!!! Pulled pork was perfectly smoked, great flavor! Kids loved their Mac n cheese w pulled pork and pulled pork sandwich. Husband had ribs and he loved them! Fries were unique and tasty! Owner was the most helpful wonderful man. He told us of some more things to see in the area! If we come back that way, we know where we are stopping!
This place is great to watch a game. Great TV setup, atmosphere, ambiance. Perhaps most importantly, the food is very legit. Wonderful bbq and sides. Definitely recommend it.
Today my family went to Blue’s on Franklin to celebrate me being done with Cancer treatment at UNC Chapel Hill. I cannot begin to say how wonderful everything was. Hat’s off to Andrew for being such an amazing, caring guy and although I couldn’t eat much my family sure did and it was all delicious!
Stopped in here when my son was visiting schools in the area. He wanted BBQ so we stopped in. Sat outside, service was fast and friendly. Owner came by each table and talked to every customer there. He was very friendly and provided us with some good tips for the area. Food was good. My son got the mac n cheese and gobbled it all up. I had their pulled pork sandwich and hush puppies, both were tasty. Beer was cold and server was very kind and helpful.
This is a new restaurant in a highly central location in Chapel Hill. Very competitive area. I ate a lunch here around 2 pm on a Wednesday. BBQ sandwich was modest and the meat somewhat dry. Tasted decent. Cole slaw serving was also modest and was shredded too fine for my taste. Beer selection was surprisingly scant: very few craft beers, mostly Miller, Budweiser, PBR, etc. I had a small pumpkin cheesecake for dessert that did not taste fresh, had some kind of fake whipping cream on top, and cost $7. My friend had waffle fries as a side, and they looked decent.
We were down at UNC for the game and stopped into Blues on Franklin for dinner. What a great choice we made. Right from the start the staff was friendly and helpful. They answered any questions we had and gave suggestions for the different foods. Everything they brought out was amazing and more than enough to feed 5 big guys. I read some reviews where people said they were hungry after they were done and the food was bland. Not sure what they ordered but our food was full of flavor and massive. I ordered the beaten by uhrito and was stuffed by the time i finished it. A few guys tried the Farmuhgedden and raved about it. Andrew (the owner) came out and chatted with us for a while to see how everything was and told us the next night they had a band and to stop by if we wanted. We did and the food was just as good the next night. One of our group could not make the walk down to the Dean Dome (hurt his leg) and Andrew had one of his sons stop working and give him a ride down. That is going above and beyond. If you have a tradition of going to UNC basketball or football games or if you are coming down to visit the campus Blues on Franklin should be a stop on your trip.
Wow! Came in town to watch a Heels game and stumbled across the best Q I’ve ever had. Andrew and Cheri were phenomenal hosts, food was world class, and they even proactively offered to drive us to the Dean Dome after dinner. First class hospitality! It was so delicious I came back a second night. I had the Hog Wild…both nights!? Come get some!?
